Horrible disgusting stoppage, this is what turns ardent fans off of boxing. Criminals. This was turning into a great fight, ruined by shithead ref.

How embarrassing for Romero was that?
They spoon fed him an inactive old man - neither were worthy of a world title fight - and he still had to get a ref to rescue him and hand him a belt.
Weeks is a disgrace, should be banned for life

I can't believe it. Feel bad for grandpa.
He did look kinda tired at the end, but to stop the fight at that point is crazy to me.
Also, the Interview after the fight looked like a scene from 'The Office'. What a shitshow.

As for Romero, he would've been a solid youtuber boxer.
Dude believes he is Mayweather and Wilder at the same time. Sadly for him, he isn't skilled nor does he have that big of a punch to fight like that.

He won't have a long and successful career, but I do wish him to get some money in future fights.

Wasn’t watching but sounds awful. Never understood the rolly hype, how did it even start? Wasn’t he just a sparring partner or somthing?

Anyway I would be trying to fight him if I we near that weight… Ryan Garcia Vs rolly would be fun.

Boxing is faker than WWE at this point. Blatant robbery.

Everyone involved with that fight (Barroso and team aside of course) should be investigated.

Just watched the Alimkhanuly vs Butler stoppage.
That shit was on the same level as this one, but the other way around. Seems like Reiss wants to have a body on his record..
Those referees get shittier each day.

Also, Tim CHEATham was about to cheat again, having the Rolly/Barroso fight almost even before the last round :brick:

fury coming back vs wilder has gone to reiss's head or something, makes him give way too much benefit of the doubt to hurt fighters. butler was half consious and stumbling all over defenless even before the 2nd kd. to let him then get dropped twice more is insane

Just seen the stoppage. Hall of fame worthy bad stoppage. Don't know what the ref was thinking. His license should be under review and legitimate investigations into corruption.

I thought the same thing.
They made a big deal out of his decision to count Fury in that fight and they praised him for months to come. I support giving fighters those 10 secounds when they get knocked down, but if they make a victory dance after getting knocked down, it may be time to stop the fight..

They made him look like a beast of a referee, but he always was one of those "if they die, they die" kinda guys.

Get that ref sacked

Nothing like getting beaten and then gifted a home town stoppage

And rolly will keep walking round celebrating like he's done something

Boxing strikes again

After that round, Cheetham would have had Rolly ahead.

in prison, yes. absolutely disgusting. corruption. plain & simple.

couldn't even look the old man in the eyes waving him off. spineless goon. literally made me sick to the stomach

apart from the disgusting corruption that senile tool weeks is also a liability for the big boxing godfather button pusher behind the curtain.
old al won't be happy about that shitshow.

the moment for the pre ordered corrupt stoppage was so idioticly bad chosen it's obvious weeks isn't the sneaky smug crook in a ref costume to go to anymore. dude lost it completely yesterday.

it's all really disgusting and sad.

what happens in vegas, stays in vegas lol

Rolly's mouth and acting pay his cheques. They need to entertain the people and get their money. Barroso ain't drawing numbers, so they jobbed him big time. Ain't nothing new in boxing..

A few days of bickering fans. Nothing will be done, it will all be swept under the rug and we'll just have to sit back and wait for the next time boxing wants to blatantly show it's corrupt.

To be honest though, I've seen just as blatant of corruption in every other American mainstream sport. Basketball is just as big of a joke and football isn't that far behind.

it fuckin' can't be. there's a limit to bullshit. even if we know the borderline is way out there.

senile weeks blew it big time.

there's fuckin' rules to this corrupt to the bone boxing game and bending them to it's limits is part of it.

BUT something that blatantly obvious corrupt just can't happen without any consequences.

there's obviously an org and a commission responsible to analyse and check that shitshow as legit or not. we all know they are in on the motherfuckin' score, still something has to happen...

guess it will be just week's old ass that will be sent to retirement.

I agree and feel the same about politicians. At the end of the day, nothing will happen. There's no longer morals in this country, the rich and powerful do as they please with little to no consequences. It's simply the world we live in today.

I'd like see all involved get nailed with corruption and get the maximum penalty. If we think banning Tony Weeks and forcing him into retirement will change anything, that would be ignorance in its truest form on our parts.

Tony is a very small part of what's wrong with boxing. It would be a injustice for Tony to take the fall for all involved. Like I said, if that's what happens(Tony taking the fall) it's damn near the same thing as "nothing" happening.
