12 Rounds Heavyweight Bout
The Duke would overwhelm Seldon with good body punches and knocking him out with a big left hook in 4 rounds. What do you guys think and who do you got?
Tommy Morrison vs. Bruce Seldon
Re: Tommy Morrison vs. Bruce Seldon
This is an excellent fight. It's hard to pick a winner. But I do think Tommy's weak chin might turn out to be decisive factor.
I was never big on Morrison. He had decent athleticism and devastating power, sure. But IMO he was too vulnerable because of his lack of durability. I saw him stunned and wobbled too many times by tune-up opponents he should have beaten easily.
I thought Lennox Lewis carried Morrison a few extra rounds in their 1995 title bout. Lennox might have been under pressure from the promoter and TV people to extend the show longer than normal.
Morrison's 1995 KO over Razor Ruddock is another negative IMO. Ruddock had barely fought in the prior three years and was probably feeling ring rust. Still, Ruddock almost won.
Seldon had a great jab and punching power. I'm tempted to pick him over Morrison by KO, but I'm not sure.

Re: Tommy Morrison vs. Bruce Seldon
It's a 50-50 bout imo.
It would Ultimately Depend on individualized strategies, training camps, and how they're styles would correlate.
I could see either Boxer Ko'ing the other, and also in an early round.
If it would go more than, say, 7 rounds, then I'd probably Have to favor Morrison, going by how he did versus the likes of...
Foreman, CarL Williams, Razor Ruddock, and Joe Hipp.
You could also actually include Ross Puritty amongst that list, even though it was a Gift Draw on Tommy's behalf.
Tom Did show guts, tenacity, heart and unusual resilience in avoiding a Ko Loss versus the Always Dangerous Spoiler type opponent in Ross Puritty.![[icon_e_geek.gif] :geek:](./images/smilies/icon_e_geek.gif)

Re: Tommy Morrison vs. Bruce Seldon
Was never much sold of Seldon, but Morrison was vulnerable and could get caught out here.
If Bentt could do it, then Seldon has a reasonable shout too.
But I'd plump for Morrison - he could hit like a ton of bricks, was not afraid to pull the trigger and was not a statue either - and Seldon by and large came up a bit short in big fights.....the Ferguson result aside.
Nice fight whatever.....I am watching

Re: Tommy Morrison vs. Bruce Seldon
I figure Morrison ought to win. But that doesn't mean that he would. He was too inconsistent. Seldon on the other hand is so underrated that I don't think he ever quite gets his due. But he was chinny. More so than Morrison. I expect it to go maybe 5-7 rounds.
Re: Tommy Morrison vs. Bruce Seldon
Morrison kayos Seldon. The diver Seldon had decent skills, but he wasn't able to withstand adversity against the dangerous top level opposition. Morrison was much tougher and he had enough to break Seldon down. 6 rounds or so and Seldon would be done.
