Let’s discuss on another thread, how many threads there should be. :-P

And since it’s me, I’ll start it and throw in a good ol’ poll.
You give great poll Ruthie

It's kinda funny how in boxing everyone believes there are "way too many" weight-classes and how it should get changed to 8 or 10.
Whereas in MMA/UFC, there are 8 weight-classes and alot of people (fans and fighters) wanna have MORE weight-classes.

The same thing with Belts. Fans wanna have only one champion in boxing and in MMA they call their only champion "undisputed" and sometimes try to FORCE interim title fights, just so they can have unification fights like in boxing.

Not saying I don't want any of that, it's just kinda funny to me.

The most important thing for me would be to cancel shit like a "regular" belt forever and only make interim titles, if it's absolutely necessary. Would be a step in the right direction.

I don't know a single MMA fan who thinks there should be more than 1 extra weightclass (~165) or who likes interim belts. Dana loves it, the fans, not so much.

Really? Once in awhile I see fans and fighters talk about the amount of weight classes and how there should be more, recently with Sean O'Malley and Roe Rogan. Those two even want to have weight-classes every 10 pounds.

I agree interim belts are mostly something that Dana wants. He was the one who talked about how he likes the idea of unification bouts like with boxing.
I do believe some fans appreciate them, though. Because some fan favorites (like Ferguson, Gaethje, Poirer) "only" ever got the interim belt and never the real thing (and probaly never will). And those fans like to consider them as former champs. I wouldn't, but to each his own.
Even now with Gaethje vs Poirer II they try to force a title to be on the line, so Dana pulled this BMF bs out his ass again. And let's not talk about the lineage of this embarassing made up title.

Part of the problem is the weight bully culture in Boxing and MMA. Cutting as much as you can while barely surviving so you can beat the little guy.
