Loma should go to 130, Haney to 140. All these belts will be up for grabs.
Haney is an average fighter. He's not special, and Lomachenko would've stopped him if they were the same size. Still, I don't see how Lomachenko should move down. He beat Haney pretty clean, and Haney is the second largest fighter he's found (I think Ortiz is a freaking LMW pretending to be a LW).
I just think size wise, 130 just better fits Loma. Assuming he can make the weight.

Haney is overrated having all the belts, but he was just in the right place at the right time.

I watched this offline. My impression was that nearly every round was hard to score. I thought Haney generally landed better shots, but also that he looked more vulnerable, usually when it was in closer range.

I thought Haney close felt about right tbh, though scoring could've gone a number of ways. Very few rounds were wider than 55-45. I thought Loma had Haney looking shaky in the 11th, but then he seemed to back off. Not sure why and it may have cost him a draw at least.

Talent wise, 130 is a wasteland. All the money fights are at 135 and 140 atm. While I agree Lomachenko is naturally a 130 lb fighter, there is no one with a big name for him to fight. He'll struggle with the real big boys with heavy hands, but he has it easy against the Haneys and Shakurs. Feels like it's impossible to try and outbox Lomachenko.

Hard to see NO judge preferring Loma, but it was always close and almost every round was swing.
I felt Loma was busier and more accurate, but Haney hit the body plenty.

Lomachenko swept from 9 and up. Then he had like 2 clear rounds where he hurt Haney from the 1st to the 8th. IDK how you can give Haney a win there. A draw is stretching it, but that's the best Haney can hope for.

I definitely agree the better talent and bigger fights are at 135. If Loma really wants a chance to unify all the belts, I think 130 might be a better way. Haney is always going to get a decision vs Loma. Top Rank can make more money long term off him. If Haney goes to 140, Loma would find it difficult to grab all the belts due to politics. 130, fighter would go to him, IMO, for the money factor of a big fight.

Urg. Haney gets the dodgy decision.
It was Loma or at most a draw.
Good fight though, right up until the decision.

You guys make it wider than it actually is. 118:110 and 117:111 for any fighter is crazy.
I'm unsure how to score the last round. If I give it to Haney, it's 114:114 even, if I give it to Loma, it's 115:113 for him
Either way, the fight was way too close.

I'm kinda bummed Loma lost. It's the third time now he lost a razor thin decision and I don't think he'll ever get a shot to fight for the undisputed title again. Too fcking bad.

I don't think there is alot left in him. If he wants some last good paydays, stay at 135, otherwise go to 130 and get some titles and close your career there.

loma defo won 10 and 11, and had haney looking a bit hurt, but no chance he won the 12th. it was actually rather baffling how he fought that round after having haney wary the previous one. if he'd won the 12th he'd at least gotten a daw

Two weekends in a row. Tonight’s scores are appalling. If there isn’t an investigation we can now call our beloved sport the same as WWE.

You all heard the boos. Who could possibly judge a fight so poorly.

State commission is a joke and will keep suckering all of this. Two weeks in a row!

Had it 114-114 and I backed Haney to win on points. I wouldn't argue with 115-113 Loma but no way did Haney deserve that decision, imo.

Just looked up the scorecards, Moretti gave the 10th round to Haney.
That is actually fcked up..

Him, Cheatham, Weisfeld and a couple of other judges are praised for being one of the best judges around, but those guys screwed up way too many times recently.

I don't wanna say they are paid of, because Eddy Hearn gonna sue me, but that's a bad joke.

'best' like in 'most corruptable, spineless pieces of shit u can find'. all part of canelo's judge goon squad responsible for the blatant golovkin robberies, the criminal bivol score cards and countless other judging farces. definitely paid off.

Loma has had the should have, could have , would have carrer.

-I had him beating salido, and Salido was over weight, and salido was nut shotting him.

- teo fight was weird, it’s like loma just gave away 6 rounds, supposedly injured, he lost, but very weird fight.

-Haney fight most had him winning.

Add in loma has fought most of his career out of his weight class…. He is 17-3 but still a top top guy.

I would probably have him number 1 at 135 and that’s the most stacked division in boxing (minimum 2nd most stacked if you like welter more) , and it’s way above his prime weight.

I see scorecards like 114-114

Mike C had it 115-113 but said a draw would be ok.

There must be a rematch. There was an unnecessary rematch vs Kambo, which no one wanted, so in this case it can't be another option. Big lipped idiot can't be allowed to run away with this gift. Otherwise we don't need such 'sport'.

That was certainly a great show. Almost everyone did their bit.

The directors, producers and distributors all earned their money. Those carefully picked judges delivered what was expected of them.

Well done Dave Moretti in particular. A safe pair of hands as ever. Can't risk any mishaps in a fight of this proportion.

A unanimous decision.

Haney did what was expected of him, he remained upright and saw out the bell.

For his efforts he will be well rewarded.

The only fly in the ointment was that Loma somehow turned back the years and delivered a lot more than what was expected of him at this stage and at this weight.

He didn't quite play his part last night. He got a little over enthusiastic and almost stole the whole damn show.

Thankfully the old bull didn't get the KO he would have needed to win that fight. That was unscripted and would have ruined a lot of 'going forward' plans.

No one like a smart arse, Mr Lomachenko.
Remember that.

Anyway, Loma still gets paid and everyone else, the networks, the sanctioning, bodies, the lawyers, can keep that Haney income stream flowing for now.

That's boxing, that's business.

The belts don't matter, everyone knows, they're only stage props after all.

It's all about keeping their cash cows producing.

Some fans might gripe and complain but they're pissing in the wind. For every fan you might lose you'll gain another.

Besides the experienced fans know how this works and they know it's only about entertainment, and that was entertaining.

No hard feelings Mr Lomachenko, you understand?

Now shut up and stop crying. You were contracted to play your part and you were getting well rewarded for it.

Be thankful we gave you that opportunity.

Now go home and wait for our phone call for your next job. And please, try to follow the script a little closer next time, won't you.

In the meantime you can count your money like a good boy.
