Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
Is anyone surprised? Boxing is just blatantly corrupt now. Across the board. It's not who is the best fighter, it's who makes money
Rolly getting a gift stoppage last week. Katie Taylor entering every fight 4-0 up, Canelo the same, judges doing everything they can to give AJ the nod over Usyk and now Lona getting clearly robbed.
It's why boxing is dying.

Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
I watched this offline. My impression was that nearly every round was hard to score. I thought Haney generally landed better shots, but also that he looked more vulnerable, usually when it was in closer range.
I thought Haney close felt about right tbh, though scoring could've gone a number of ways. Very few rounds were wider than 55-45. I thought Loma had Haney looking shaky in the 11th, but then he seemed to back off. Not sure why and it may have cost him a draw at least.

That was simply 117-111-ish display by Loma. F8ck them promoters, judges and big lips.

Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
I had it draw 6-6 Loma did appear to break Haney's will down the home stretch and almost ko'd haney, loma should of stepped on gas more going for ko.
116-112 means 8 rounds for haney 4 for loma tells you who the system wanted to win..
Loma fading as far as career due to age, haney vs stevenson, and tank, or top 140 pound fighters would be awesome..
Loma got some good fights left in him but should probably retire, as I don't see him improving his legacy fighting on.

Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
Loma was the clear winner. Pissed off with that 1
Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
It's still shakey, but the best you can do for Haney is a draw. The judges were nowhere near that kind of score.
Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
Haney is roasted all over internet now
Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
Good. Shakur entering the ring and saying straight up that Haney lost was hilarious too. Haney is so cringe. Dude gets the WBC belt emailed to him now retains with the judges help after holding on for dear life and almost getting stopped several times. Shameful.
Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
Wasn’t a robbery. There weren’t more than a handful of rounds that were clear to score. I had it 115-113 Loma but I could see it the exact same score the other way, and I am in no way a Haney fan. Loma showed how to beat him.
Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
This, I had Loma winning but it was a tight fight and could have gone either way, the controversy helps the rematch make huge money. Crying a robbery then saying it was a draw is just silly, it was a close fight.
The rematch will make them so much money that their descendants may never have to work again. Loma probs wins the rematch, retires a gazillionair and Haney moves up and becomes the future of Junior Welterweight/Welterweight.
Why can’t people just be amazed at a fantastic fight that was all action at a high skill leveand finished on an exciting last few rounds with the door by left open for it all to happen again?

Many hard rounds to score. Lomachenko finished the stronger and I thought that might have gotten him over the line.
Think it will make a very interesting rematch, should it happen but team Haney might be wise to avoid one.

Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
For what i saw, it was a close fight, probably with a slightly preference for Loma. I must rewatch anyway. Kudos to Loma at his age, with a war - that is also fought - in his country, for still being such a phenomal boxer.

Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
Loma demonstrated it is possible to get inside and land on Haney. But he is one slippery southpaw, even at his age and few others will be able to do what he did against Haney.
Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
Let us all reflect on Dave Morreti giving Haney the 10th round, and how outrages that was yet still the reality that we (as fans) cannot do anything about it, nor will the various boxing authorities do anything about it.

Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
moretti is awful, one of these dinosaurs who has delivered awful cards for decades but still gets big fight after big fight, there is next to no accountability in boxing
Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
IMHO Loma won the 10th, however, we’re you sitting in that judge’s seat, was your vision of the whole round as restricted as his was? Not being a smararse here (well, on reflection, perhaps I am…) but this is why we have three judges (and the amateurs more) as a (particularly a close) fight can be seen differently from different angles.
For disclosure I was barracking for Loma and saw a close win for him, also I’m dubious on clearly shady judges. I also refuse to sit down with a pen and paper and ruin my enjoyment of a fight by trying to score it but I though Loma did edge it.

You certainty have an argument there.dberry wrote: ↑21 May 2023, 03:59IMHO Loma won the 10th, however, we’re you sitting in that judge’s seat, was your vision of the whole round as restricted as his was? 100% agree, how can you criticise a judge when you dont know the full story. Mabey Dave pre filled his score card, Mabey dave fell asleep in the tenth and panicked, mabey dave was on meth, mabey dave had a tramatic brain injury we dont know about and he can not think.... mabey dave thought Loma was the black one.... it could be anything, so i respect Daves card.dberry wrote: ↑21 May 2023, 03:59IMHO Loma won the 10th, however, we’re you sitting in that judge’s seat, was your vision of the whole round as restricted as his was? Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
Absolutely ridiculous. I was actually almost certain that after Loma the big underdog clearly winning the majority of the rounds against an elite level fighter two weight classes above him they wouldn't have the nerve to fůck him over this time... Yes, I'm naive. AND had to wake up after just two hours of sleep to witness this blasphemy

Lol!! Those are also arguments to be made.gregregegg wrote: ↑21 May 2023, 04:11100% agree, how can you criticise a judge when you dont know the full story. Same. As soon as I start doing the pen and paper thing the entertainment value is destroyed. I may re-watch this fight armed with a pen and paper but having watched it, I can appreciate some of the rounds are going to be hard to split.dberry wrote: ↑21 May 2023, 03:59IMHO Loma won the 10th, however, we’re you sitting in that judge’s seat, was your vision of the whole round as restricted as his was? Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
Lot of close rounds, but Loma landed cleaner and harder punches for me. I liked Haney body work, but they had literally no effect to Lomachenko. Loma was able to bully oponent who was probably 2 weights heavier than him and even hurt him. Haney felt really uncomfortable in last 3 rounds. Loma lost some speed at age 35 IMO which is crucial for his game. However, no way Haney won that fight. I can score it 114-114 if im kind to Haney. Also can score it 118-110 if im kind to Loma. 116-112 Lomachenko seems ok to me. Fuk judges, you must go for the stoppage

Re: Lomachenko was robbed against Haney
Close fight, the wide card ruins it.
I think maybe some on here wanted Haney to lose after his weigh in performance?
Everything is labelled a robbery now days.
Was close 114-114 or a 115-113 each way would have been ok.
A split decision or majority even.. the fact it was unanimous. That’s a shame.
