He definitely falls short, if to compare him with this names, but he's an ATG too. Before this fight I said, that Loma would be an ATG in a case of the win, so objectively he deserves it.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑21 May 2023, 10:52 Loma is a hall of famer for sure but I never bought into him being a great P4P fighter on par with Floyd/Pac/Duran/Whitaker/RJJ and so on. He's not on that level and never was but still a great fighter.

He may have beat Haney, it was close but his best win is going to go down as the win over Rigo, who was smaller than him. Russell Jr. was a close 2nd. He probably deserved to beat Haney in fairness.DrDuke wrote: ↑21 May 2023, 10:56He definitely falls short, if to compare him with this names, but he's an ATG too. The truth is that Lomachenko shouldn't be fighting at 135. His entire style of boxing just isn't as effective. He's a slick southpaw with short arms and great feet, but has always looked vulnerable at this weight against guys with a little power even going back to the Linares fight.
Anytime Haney or Lopez threw a punch, you can see him having to reset a little bit each time. As a result, rounds go by without him landing much. At the lower weights, this was rarely the case and he was never having to pause.
I thought it could have been a draw at least, but I've no problem with giving it to Haney.

I am in the Loma won that camp .
Haney wasnt anywhere near as good as he could be - due to Loma`s movement and didnt look like he was even going to bring it apart from the body shots - maybe thats how you feel if you know the judges are going to favour you .
fishy as foccacia

Has there been any rematch talk?
Re: Devin Haney vs. Vasiliy Lomachenko | Sky Sports - 20 May 2023
Yep, you have to wonder how much Loma could have achieved if he'd turned over sooner and continued to campaign in the lighter weights. He's had a great career, but can't help but feel he could have achieved ATG status.944517 wrote: ↑21 May 2023, 11:47 The truth is that Lomachenko shouldn't be fighting at 135. He turned over in 2013 so he would have been 25. He got fast tracked. If he'd turned over sooner he would have had success but the competition wouldn't have been that great. At 126 Juanma Lopez and Gamboa were seen as the top 2. Flawed fighters he would have beaten. Salido came along then an he did lose to Salido but I think we all feel he was the better fighter. At 130 he'd have been champ apart from maybe Mikey Garcia. I think he'd have beaten Mikey but the power of Mikey might have been an issue. Morales/Barrera/Pac were all gone from 130 by about 2008. All would have beaten him for me. No question about that. He might have had a fight with Crawford at 135 if he went up there. Crawford was a developing fighter and it would have been a good fight but you have to pick Crawford.
Re: Devin Haney vs. Vasiliy Lomachenko | Sky Sports - 20 May 2023
Way i see it , IT was a great fight , at the end i could'nt pick a winner , first thing i noticed was the size difference looked like a lightweight with a welterweight , but Lomo's skills were they good or what .
I had Lomo winning early then Haney found his way back , Haney started landing crisp clean body shots , but Lomo found a way to break his rythm it was simply a great fight , whats more at the end of it were talking some saying Lomo , some saying Haney , I just simply said I DON'T KNOW , BUT i did said there will be contreversy because some of the rnds were so close that if you favor one over the other , there will be a wide margin with your favorite getting the nod in close rnds .
So the actual scorline was'nt has bad has i thought it would be , who do you score , Haney with a good clean hard crisp upercut to the body or Lomo firing two straight lefts which were not has effective but still landed .
Hard one i'm gonna reserve judgement till i've seen it again , hope theres a rematch probably won't be ,, but it makes the Tank - Haney bout mouth watering , can Haney take Tanks power because he will get hit
This stuff makes up for the heavyweight bullshit

We all expected Loma to feel Haney out for a few rounds, slow starting like he usually does.
Wasn't it a nice surprise to see him get stuck in straight from the opening bell?
The adjustment we all wanted after the too slow a start in the Lopez fight.

Had Haney winning 8-4, Loma-Shakur should be next
Tank-Haney... for the money & glory
Close fight, Loma should hold his head high, he did well

Re: Devin Haney vs. Vasiliy Lomachenko | Sky Sports - 20 May 2023
Loma had a go with a guy with tbf huge size advantage.
Nip and tuck
Loma’s foot and head work meant Haney targeted Loma’s body/torso.
That was it really for Haney, although very significant.
I’m sorry though. Loma’s overall work and punch tally wins for me by at least a round or two.
Why am I sorry ffs. Haney is a good fighter. Really good. But he came up against a ATG. And Loma should have got that decision, just.

I was very very sure he wouldn’t start slow like normal. Thought a few people were. Imagine if he always fought 12 hard rounds? What he’d be doing to people
Said already but 8-4 Loma is absolutely the correct score. It’s not an out and out robbery but it’s not the right decision.

aside from the last round i loved how loma fought, couldve beat teo and salido if he fought like that. if only he'd taken the same approach in the 12th vs haneny he might at least have a draw here, cant believe he coasted the last round and admitted to it

Was the bud light bottle full, or had the thrower already transitioned?
Re: Devin Haney vs. Vasiliy Lomachenko | Sky Sports - 20 May 2023
If it were Mayweather, Alvarez or Davis instead of Loma then Haney would have been made to come in at a lower weight, there would have been a stringent rehydration clause, Loma would have been allowed injections into all limbs and Haney would have had to agree to having at least one arm amputated.

For a black guy, Haney isn't really backed by many black people.
Not saying that after the Loma fight, even before.
Seem's like black supporters only support black fighters that only linked with PBC.
See it a lot on twitter.
Bud gets the same hate.

The highlights I saw post fight made it look like a Loma win but I just watched the full fight and had Haney winning.
Loma is the more skilled fighter and finished strong but Haney's size was the difference over the 12 rounds IMO.
