How big can Haney possibly be if they're weighing in within a pound or two if that :maybe:
Is the size of them being overplayed ?
I won’t ufc 270 Cody Stamann fought at 135 and entered the ring at 159…. So judging of that 22 days out Stamann probably weighed mid 160s and made 135…

That’s about the limit of what’s practically possible.

So you could have a man that in fighting shape weighs 165 vs a man that in fighting shape weighs 145ish… 20lb difference is basicaly going up 3 or 4 weight classes at that weight.

That’s how big a difference in weight there could be, how big a difference in weight there will be..: harder to say. But it will be significant.
Tell me something I don't know.
Ok so you know Haney could potentially be 3 + weight classes bigger and you’re suggesting the weight factor might be overplayed??

I know it’s not the same thing, but has anyone ever jumped 3 classes in one go and won?

weight is massive here. (But there’s the potential for haney to over cut and be weak as a kitten)

Settle down, your gonna have issues if you keep getting stressed out like that.
Relax and take a breather.

Is it 3 weight classes Haney will be bigger than Lomachenko ?

Haney is content sitting in the pocket at times.
He looks comfortable there though, be interesting to see if his feathers get ruffled and how he reacts should it go there.

See the interview.

I came away liking Haney.
Devin stayed in there for well over an hour.
I salute him on his openness :TU:

He sure does and it worked a treat against Kambosos.

Haney was very disciplined in Kambosos 2.
I think it's one of the reasons I started this thread, because if he does that again and can thwart Lomachenko from the outside, Lomachenko is forced to take chances to get to the inside hence the question.
It could be a big play in the fight.

i didnt think he was good on the inside, almost all his best work was done mid or long range, and he tied up continually when it got close. loma's best work on the other hand was when he got inside and did some mauling.

but one thing about dev is he's a smart fighter and knows his strengths and weaknesses - he boxes to them and makes inside fighting moot most of the time.

I found there were four close rounds in the bout, rounds 5,9,10 and 12.
Rounds 5 and 12 went to Haney, Lomachenko won rounds 9 and 10.

1.Haney 10-9
2.Haney 10-9
3.Haney 10-9
4.Lomachenko 10-9
5.Haney 10-9*
6.Haney 10-9
7.Haney 10-9
8.Lomachenko 10-9
9.Lomachenko 10-9 *
10.Lomachenko 10-9 *
11.Lomachenko 10-9
12.Haney 10-9 *

Haney 115
Lomachenko 113

Haney started very well, his body shots were nothing short of outstanding at times and it saved him very late in the fight.
Lomachenko although behind heavily by the half way point was competitive in most of the those rounds, but they went to Haney for me.
Haney proved he isn't a one trick pony, as well as his body shots his jab, left hook and straight right were impressive, his movement was very fluid and he got himself out of a number of tight spots with it.
Haney seemed to win his rounds more decisively, Lomachenko had a big 11th but everything else he won was with a struggle.
Lomachenko's best work came from single shots or short wild flurries, his movement and ability to create attacking or defensive poses is truly unique to him, he's excellent at doing that.
Both boxers chins were solid and the pace was frantic and hard to keep up with at times so it must have been a challenge to score this one live.
They could absolutely do a rematch, Lomachenko certainly earned that right, but it was Devin's night by a hair.
And no, Devin Haney was not weak on the inside in this contest.
