Kid Gavilan vs Bud Crawford

Post by AngryGoon38 »

In a 12 rounder @ 147.

Gavilan was a Whirlwind of Work-Rate.

A Pressure fighter. And a Volume Boxer. He was a combination of Henry Armstrong and Harry Greb.

His Ko Ratio amongst his Wins was below 30%, but, The Cuban Hawk was Very Strong and Durable. Good hand-speed.
Good Reflexes too. He gave The Great SRR a Good Solid test of a Fight, in going the distance and having his moments as well.

Versus Crawford, it'd be Very interesting and Full of thrills and Action.
If it goes the distance then Gavilan would likely pull off the Victory(Majority or Split decision), providing he's at 100%.
Crawford might get a gift draw versus the Best version of Kid Gavilan.
Gavilan had a certain specific time-frame where he was basically only 2 or 3 percent less capable as SRR.

For Much of his career though, he was basically a Hot and Cold type.
Gavilan in That time-frame would only be another Fairly-Decent opponent for Crawford. He would either lose by a pretty decisive decision, or get stopped between the 10th and 12th round.

You have to be super really good to beat a guy like the great Kid Gavilan at his very best. Gavilan is one of my favorite all-time fighters.

Gavilan would outbox and outpunch Crawford behind his jabs and bolo punches to take a decision even under the classic 15 rounds rule.
