Fought like a complete idiot in there. He should never be losing to CBS.
That’s how LO has always fought !!

He dam well deserved those knockdowns, for bending the rules so much, have you ever seen a fighter warned and told off so often ?

Okolie lost that fight because if the way he fights, and CBS sticking to a great game plan and not being distracted by the drama

If I never see LO fight again I won’t complain. Absolutely bloody awful

So glad CBS won that, I think there’d be a riot if Okokie got the nod. How one judge had that a draw I don’t know. Okolie fought dirty

The scores were a criminal 112-112 draw, and 116-107 and 115-108 for Billam-Smith

Surely sky wont want a rematch. Billam smith should either unify or vs rich riac.... okolie to heavyweight vs hughiefury for all the insominiacs.

Absolutely no chance in watching the full fight. Can anyone summarise it in a few sentences?

Rematch?

They kept that quiet - No thanks, Okolie is never going to change, if anything he was even worse tonight than in the past. It was a piss poor fight in reality.

Fearful_Freddie wrote: 27 May 2023, 18:26 112-112 - is that possible?
In this day in age a KD pretty much guarantees a 10-8, whereas points off are subtracted at the end. Someone giving 8 rounds to Okolie would come up with 112-111 on this basis.

Typical okolie fight but CBS pulled off a legit knockdown early on with decent left hook. Okolie then had a point off for holding (which was fair enough).

CBS standing up to the physical wrestling but not landing very much. Okolie shading most rounds on workrate but ugly and falling in a lot. Any holding had Shane up calling to the ref and another point off/multiple warnings.....bit dubious and CBS team clearly looking for this.

Two bullshit knock-downs late on when both knackered and okolie blindly charging forward whenever missed with big right hand.

Ugly fight. Very hard to score, regardless of the late dubious knock-downs.

Thanks for that. Pretty much as expected from an Okolie fight :TU:

Hopefully this wakes Okolie up and he starts actually boxing, like he clearly can do, instead of his wrestling tactics.

Okolie is just crazy. He had the reach and at the end CBS was just waiting for him to hold. Straight shots were landing, CBS’ eye was a mess, if he stepped back rather than trying to maul them both out the ring he still could have won this fight. Weirdly happy at the end for someone with points deductions and dubious knockdowns

Okolie is a such a frustrating/difficult watch. He has all the attributes, but it’s like he is programmed to only fight one way.

That said, this style has brought him a world title and I feel the CBS team played a big part tonight before the opening bell even rang.

By all accounts they had put the referee on notice about the holding - and CBS made sure every minor offence was brought to the refs attention, even when he was holding himself. The last 2 KO’s were also BS.

Probably the best thing about the show was Okolies post fight interview. Very refreshing.

Okolie will probably go for the BW next.

Then call himself a 2 weight world champion.
