Great win for wood.
BUT. the cynic in me thinks the absolutly killed lara with some kind of rehydration clause after he missed weight. Looks so flat and weak in there. I think BBBoC need to stay out of championship weigh ins, if someones too unhealthy, pull the fight, otherwise stay out of it. Lara might of made weight and hydrated well if BBBoC stayed out of it... instead he misses weight, gets some weird restrictions placed on him by his opponents team, and comes out looking dredfull.
I also firmly believe all contracts should should be open to the public (or set by sanctioning bodys with no clauses ect)...
Still good win for wood.
Defo been rehydration clauses
Lara looked a shell in there
An awful fight. Lara was horrible, relied only on his power. Wood made some mistakes, but this time he was able to withstand. He still has a lot of work to do. He can box methodically, but his defence is far from really good.
I've been the biggest Lara fan since the first Warrington fight but I can't help pondering, was it really the weight issue or did Wood just expose him? I mean, do we have any proof of his boxing abilities?

I saw someone comparing Lara to Mayorga. That's completely wrong. Mayorga beat a prime Vernon forrest. He was much better than Lara.
I would consider it an incorrect view to have Lara anywhere near Mayorgas level.
did they say lara was at mayorga's level or just similar stylistically? you can have two fighters with similar styles but one can be better than the other, i can see the similarities tbh. wild haymaker oriented fighters with power

I was seeing people saying he was another Mayorga but he definitely isn't. He was KO'd by a body shot in one round in Mexico a few years ago. He is a limited guy but explosive. Similarity is there generally but I put Mayorga higher.

This kind of thing just makes boxing look even worse. He’s failed a test yet was able to fight. How’s that allowed?
It was the same for Fury. He was allowed to fight Wlad after failing a test.
