Krzysztof Glowacki Retires

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Former WBO Krzysztof Glowacki has announced his retirement. The 36-year-old leaves the ring with a 32-4 record. Glowacki won the title with an upset win over Marco Huck back in 2015 but lost it to the great Oleksandr Usyk. He regained an interim version of the title later but lost it under controversial circumstances to Mairis Briedis in 2019.

I think it was the Radchenko fight where I thought he lost a step. Either way, his fight against Huck was awesome.

A good decision, he clearly was finished. He had a good career, it was fun to watch him win or lose. The Huck bout was an obvious highlight of the career, a one of the best cruiserweight contests ever. The Briedis bout was fun too. Of course, Briedis acted foulish, but Glowacki shouldn't have done all that pretending to grab more attention of the ref. It's not soccer. When a fighter gets fouled, he must fight back every way he can.

Wow, retires from boxing and gets a mma KO of the year candidate…. probably won’t be considered considering it’s low level promotion, but that’s the cleanest from the bottom ko punch ever. Holland had some weird whacks from the bottom, noones ever just thrown a strait left (Mabey left hook, hard to say) being mounted like that…(that iv seen)

mariusz wach apparently has a martial arts background maybe he should try beating up some cans in mma (although does such a thing exist for a guy with 0 mma fights) rather than continuing as a boxing punch bag

Off the top of my head the most similar occurrences were Holland Vs Jacare and Uriah Hall Vs Dylan Andrews (TUF) which weren't from underneath full mount but Alavutkin Gadzhiev vs Hikaru Sato was. None looked as impressive as this though.

The referee was diving in as Glowacki was rolling him over. He saw it coming way ahead of time.
