Felix Trinidad vs. Carlos Palomino

Post by scorpio83 »

15 Rounds Welterweight Bout

Tito Trinidad would overwhelm Palomino behind his jabs, right hand feints and big left hooks to take a decision. What do you guys think and who do you got?

Carlos Palomino on points or early knockout. He was the better inside fighter of the two.

As much as I liked Palomino, he was not a great fighter, imo. Great fighters-Benitez and Duran- dominated him( I thought the decision in the Benitez fight was too close). To me, Trinidad wasn't close to their level. So, I can't see Carlos being overwhelmed in this bout. Really good, well-matched fight and tough to call because Tito had power and height. Palomino on points due to bodywork and excellent stamina.

I'm assuming Trinidad. Based on what I've seen and heard, he's a class or two above Palomino, who's pretty damned good himself.

I grew up watching Palomino on live TV, and feel I know his abilities fairly well. By 2000, But I sort of lost touch with the sport (many fighters, not all of them). For that reason I haven't see as much of Trinidad as I should've, and am making an educated guess he beats Carlos.

Yes, you can say that he could beat Carlos Palomino, but that he was a class above or two? No way!
