Josh Taylor will destroy Teo!

Post by Fightdoctor »

I like Teo. I'm a fan. He is brash but he is mostly honest. He's got the gift of gab. But at this very moment he is no wear close to being nearby or in the vicinity of a mind state where he can get in the ring with Josh Taylor. He has too many personal issues going on and "fighting" is far from his primary goal or motivation. I would say he is being sacrificed to Tartan Tornado! Taylor on the other hand has had a rebirth since splitting with Ben Davidson. He is super-focused and back to fighting with that Rob Roy/Braveheart spite and spittle. The only benefit to Teo in this matchup is he gets a great payday! Believe it will be brutal!!

Taylor was unimpressive against Catterall and like most others, I thought Catterall won.

I don't see Taylor as any certainty against Lopez.

Not sure he has the 'gift' of the gab as he talks nonsense... I forget how hard he bangs though so Josh needs to be on his toes. Catterall aside Josh generally looks great so it is fascinating..

Catteral beat him convincingly, imo. I've seen a lot of Taylor and a fair bit of Lopez. I wouldn't be putting bets on either, but I'll be looking forward to watching it.
I favour Lopez, and I don't think it'll go the distance.

If Taylor put in a full training camp with quality sparring partners he may have an edge on Teo.
Teo seems distracted.
This could be a war late if they outbox one another early.
Really is that close.

caterall beat taylor. without even a discussion if it was anything else than corruption to not spoil bigger paydays for taylor that already obviously where negotiated behind the scenes.

the whole professional sport of boxing is such a sad and total corrupt mess from bottom to top.

every time i gotta witness blatantly obvious corrupt proceedings like this, i'm almost about to give up on following this amazing sport.

the absolute disgust, blanks out all the fun of watching a contest between dedicated men who put everything on the line and wherein 'may the better man win' should be absolute paramount.

if pure greed ruling literally everything would be a recent development and not matter of fact
since -and probably- for ever, a lot of us, probably would be out by now for good.

Lopez will have to improve his boxing style immensely to win fights at 140 and 147.

Lopez was a large lightweight with speed, power , athleticism and carefully matched at 135 and built up.

Lopez advantage of power is mitigated vs larger fighters who can absorb Lopez power better than lightweights in turn hit harder than the light weights Lopez had been fighting.

Lopez has to learn to do more that pot shot against these larger fighters.

Unless Lopez matched carefully at 140 and 147 I see a hard road ahead for him.

Unless Taylor has injury we don't know about, has aged a lot over night, or chooses lose, I don't see Teo winning this fight.

I doubt it. Taylor doesn't really have much of a track record of destroying people -- Ohara Davies is the only decent opponent that he's ever stopped, and he often wins his big fights by narrow decision. Teofimo has never been stopped, and he only lost once by narrow decision. If Taylor beats Teofimo at all, it will probably be by narrow decision.

Not sure he mostly wins by narrow decisions. Prograis, Ramirez and the one he should have lost to Jack are the only ones I can think of...unless you are talking world level only then that makes sense :TU: otherwise it's wide or it gets stopped.

I can foresee an Oliver McCall style-fight where Teo takes an hellacious beating that he almost "wants".

He's clearly mentally unstable right now - could well be an emotional meltdown while taking insane punishment to prove some machismo point. Taylor points, or one of those slow-motion-car-crash type stoppages where there's no danger of a KO, but nobody wants to watch any more..

Hopefully, they're both back to their best and it's a super-fight, but not likely is it...?

i can't see taylor 'destroying' or knocking out lopez either. i think it will be a pretty close hopefully very good fight.

i actually favor lopez to pull off what would be considered an upset if u look at all the overwhelmingly one sided expert opinions, none of em' giving lopez much of a chance.

That's it, the "truth" is usually a matter of opinion that only the winners get to write.

For this fight I don't think the judges will be needed.

We expect to see a clear winner tonight.

Teo prefers people to come at him and Taylor will do that. Someone might get destroyed, but it's not clear to me anyway, just who that someone will be.

I still expect Lopez to win, but anything is possible if he's not mentally prepared.

Taylor looked more like afterbirth in the 12th round.

True.

I wasn’t around to have a chance, but I would have only called it toss up. Hard to see this level of dominance by Teo given his recent performances and his personal chaos.

Crazy that the bookies had Taylor such a huge favorite. This was a pick em' but only because of Teo.

Nothing personal, but I don't know how many times I had to read about Teo's "state of mind".
Way too many people are acting like they are some top rated psychologist. Some people also think they can read a boxers mind by their posture or the aura he is omitting :OhYes:
