S.O.G ... The Book Of Ward Documentary
S.O.G ... The Book Of Ward Documentary
Anyone see the new documentary on Andre Ward called S.O.G ... The Book Of Ward ?
I watched it last night and it's really quite good, I found it very inspirational and uplifting.
There's some interesting titbits in there that I was unaware of, for instance how Andre Ward had suffered a knee injury coming into the Kovalev 1 bout.
Also that Andre Ward had offered GGG a fight with a 50/50 split that GGG turned down.
Ward strikes me as a guy who is very well put together and level headed, he could have gone on with his career and was offered a 5 fight contract [Post Kovalev 2] and turned it down to spend more time with his family and put his health first.
I was very impressed with the documentary, give it go, it's well worth the watch.

Good review. I want to watch this now even though I never cared for Ward as a fighter at all.

Wait it’s already out? Gonna have to watch it over the weekend then. I have a lot of respect for him and his accomplishments, and how candid and outspoken he is. He’s one of the ex-champions I enjoy hearing fight commentary from, like Ray Leonard George Foreman Roy Jones and Bobby Czyz back in the day.
I saw an interview a couple weeks ago where he said if he hadn’t retired, he would’ve fought Tony Bellew for his Cruiserweight belt, then moved up to Heavyweight to fight (a then prime and undefeated)Anthony Joshua before retiring. If that’s true that would’ve been interesting but he ultimately made the right move retiring for his family. It hurts watching older fighters stay in the game way too long and he understood that.

Plus he was so far up his own arse, he turned himself inside out.

6 years later and the butthurt hasn’t healed.
Andre Ward was a tremendous boxer. He is a gentleman, a good family man, and an excellent boxing analyst. He was intelligent enough to get out of the game at the top.
I loved watching him nullify great offensive boxers.
He pissed me off for a number of years due to lack of activity, but there is no logical argument against his greatness in the ring, no matter how irritating it was for you.

Ward's record is amazing.
If you watched how he achieved it. It's not.
This guy was never in a good fight, and cheated in every big win he ever had.
His 2 biggest victories are a robbery he didn't deserve on the cards, and a TKO victory on shots that he should've had points deducted for.
His record is a fraud in my opinion.

And my opinion is you are a bunch of whiney bitches.
Kovalev got nothing done after the KD in the first fight. He has only himself to blame.
In the second fight he got the specific beatdown his whining bitch ass deserved.
Kessler, Green, Bika, Abraham, Froch in succession.
Rodriguez (undefeated)
Barrera (undefeated)
Try harder.

Btw, I supported Kov in the first fight, but he let it slip away. 2nd fight, after his continuous cacophonous bitching and moaning, I loved the result.
Re: S.O.G ... The Book Of Ward Documentary
A lowblow is a lowblow.
Unless Ward threw it. Then it's a TKO.

Re: S.O.G ... The Book Of Ward Documentary
Forgot about his destruction of Chad Dawson. Don’t start with the weight drain. Dawson was the MoeRon who agreed to it, and he was never the same after it.
Re: S.O.G ... The Book Of Ward Documentary
I got no issues with the Dawson win. I never take "Oh the guy was weight drained" as an excuse either. He signed the contract. It's on him.
