Teremoana Jnr
Teremoana Jnr
Dude needs to get in the ring soon, but...
Raw, young, huge heavyweight from Australia. Not even close to being tested but has a pretty good jab and decent power. Doesn't looked lost at this level, worthy of a look.

Love to see him vs Goodall or vosiutu.
Or terviski for the aus title. (But that depends on what happens with the vacant commonwealth that was ment to go out vs opelu I guess.)
Ps non of that next, but by the end of the year after 3 or 4 more.

Re: Teremoana Jnr
Agreed. He needs to get busy overall. Has some potential to make some fun fights from what we've seen so far. Hopefully not another Tye Fields.

Yep hard to stay busy in aus without some risk though. No reall journeymen. I’m bias being from aus, but I think aus boxing is one of the funnest scenes when it’s going good.
Huni vs McKean,
Opelu vs Goodall
Vousiutu vs terziviski
Terimona jr vs Jackson Murray.
Those kinda fights are always fun.

I follow Aussie HW's like I follow Canada HW's. Small pool but fun stuff.gregregegg wrote: ↑02 Apr 2023, 19:03 Yep hard to stay busy in aus without some risk though. No reall journeymen. I’m bias being from aus, but I think aus boxing is one of the funnest scenes when it’s going good.

'looks like a supersized, feisty transformer with a mustache, without the snotstopper he looks like a gigantic bitch, huuge bloke with a bit feminine facial features!'
in all correctness i gotta apologize rightaway for the above statement for everything that's wrong with it. honestly i'm just citing this superrude statement, uttered by the drunk svcker next to me.
teremona junior might go straight to the top and fore sure is a supersweet guy outside of the ring. all the best to him.

Oh, bit of a shame, but I guess he wants the olympics. Being an olympian is a huge publicity boost…. So why not, he has time.locoxelbox wrote: ↑04 Apr 2023, 08:11 He has gone back to the amateurs for now. Will box in the World Championships next month.

his fight last month vs jalolov in the world championships
now, clearly jalolov was getting the better of it, but gawd damn that stoppage was way early. teremoana wasnt the same level but he didnt look bad, landed some good left hands

Another premature stoppage by a paranoid ref.
Of course the losing opponent wasn't going to complain.
Easy Earnings for him as a losing opponent expected to lose.
Refs are in such a hurry to stop fights these days.
As soon as they see the slightest opportunity to have a much easier night for themselves, they follow suit on
The modern paranoia reffing ideology.

Re: Teremoana Jnr
teremoana has been focusng on amateur boxing the last year and a half an it's paid off. rampaged through oceania olympic qualifying tournament with 3 stoppages
Re: Teremoana Jnr
Jesus, seems like every other time Teremoana was hit the ref gave him a standing 8 or stopped it (I only watched the last round). Reminded me of the Ottke-Reid fight where the ref warned Reid for hitting Ottke, only the opposite, with the ref rewarding the guy doing the punching. Hard to tell from the two clips (first one posted and this one) what Teremoana's got, other than that he can blast out an overmatched, smaller opponent and be outboxed pretty handily while he follows his opponent around the ringmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑05 Jun 2023, 15:05 his fight last month vs jalolov in the world championships

Re: Teremoana Jnr
teremoana has been on a tear since returning to the amateurs. olympic qualified and here he is in a recent international event in the usa, facing one of the top american am heavies, steven williams
an indication that he's improved may be that he lost to brazil's abner texeira shortly after returning to the ams, but has since beat him 3x by stoppage. this guy is 6'6 with a big build, yett still has speed, timing, along with power and a diverse attack
hope when he's done with the olympics this year he comes out flying in the pros and doesnt go the jalolov route of never fully committing

Re: Teremoana Jnr
teremoana won his first olympic bout, by ko 1 over a ukrainian who'd never been stopped in his 43 other fights recorded by boxrec. now in the quarterfinals, so if he wins his next bout he's guaranteed bronze at minimum
one of the best punchers in the ams at the moment, very few are getting stoppages regularly like he is internationally. he's already ko'd some of the other guys boxing in paris as well

Short flight to NZ where we have a good supply of HW journeymen, some so big they can hardly get through the ropesgregregegg wrote: ↑02 Apr 2023, 19:03 Yep hard to stay busy in aus without some risk though. Teremoana lost to the same Ukrainian just last year in February 2024. He must've improved a hell of a lot in a short space of timemargaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Jul 2024, 15:21 teremoana won his first olympic bout, by ko 1 over a ukrainian who'd never been stopped in his 43 other fights recorded by boxrec. now in the quarterfinals, so if he wins his next bout he's guaranteed bronze at minimum

Re: Teremoana Jnr
looks like Teremoana vs Jalolov in the quarters. wish they met a bit later in the tournament, because I think they're both medal worthy.
jello won their previous fight - an utterly ridiculous stoppage where big t wasn't in any trouble (see above), but nonetheless jelly was clearly leading the fight. Teremoana has improved tremendously since that point though. For reference, around the same time he also lost to the Ukrainian guy he just flattened in 1, and also lost to a Brazilian he's since stopped in 1 round as well.

Is this the same Bakhodir Jalolov, with a 14-0(14) pro record, that Boxrec rates as No.26 in the world?

Re: Teremoana Jnr
indeed it is, he has being doing the am + pro thing for several years now and this is his 3rd olympics. i thought he'd be a full time pro after winning gold in tokyo but i guess not. the rematch vs big terry was close, teremoana first round, jalolov third round, and 2nd either way. jalolov got it and has cruised his other fights and should easily beat the spanish guy in the final
would like to see teremoana and jalolov both go full out on pro boxing now, jalolov is 30 and doesnt have time to half ass it for another olympics.
