I see that I went along with Griffith here, the correct name is of course Griffin. What made it close was that Jones was credited with a knockdown in an earlier round that was really a slip. Otherwise Griffin seemed to handle him pretty well and Jones couldn't do much with him.

Holyfield-Moorer is the closest to the criteria - not already mentioned - I can come up with.

Moorer won the first fight narrowly by majority decision. The rematch did last 8 rounds but Moorer was down 5 times along the way.
