Money Mayweather-Paul Williams

Post by AngryGoon38 »

At 147 and then an eventual rematch at 154.

I think that Williams would've won both bouts.

"Money Mayweather" knew what he was doing by Avoiding "Paul Williams".

According to all the boxing social media posts that show up in my Facebook feed nobody in the history of earth could ever beat Money. I tend to agree though, Williams would have been a tough matchup for Mayweather due to his size and punch volume

He was basically a southpaw version of Tommy Hearns. At least Provided the right opponent was in the ring.

Ever see his 1st round Knockout wins over Kolle, and Quintana..?!

Paul Williams would've been a Nightmare for Floyd. Floyd knew exactly who to adamantly Avoid. Would've been a Horrible experience for The Money Man, and He innately knew this.

Williams was awkward but struggled with counterpunchers

agree, people should watch quintana-williams 1, lara-williams.......kermit cintron was even doing the same thing to him before turning into a leap frog

williams was more tailored for floyd than vice versa, and the height difference is a bit of a red herring since williams never bother to use his length after he beat margarito

I'd of rather seen Mayweather-Martinez.

Williams throws loads of shots but Floyd rolls, dips and counters him with the cleaner work, remember Toney Jirov? Floyd 8-4

I feel like Floyd would figure him out and counter the shit out of him down the stretch, but Williams' workrate would always keep him in the fight.

I think it'd be a narrow 115-113 win for Floyd.

I have to agree. 8-4 sounds right. Williams takes the first few rounds Floyd gets his distance and pace, then he just takes over.
They may be close rounds but Floyd takes about 8 of them

Not really. More like a tall southpaw David Benavidez with less power. Still an interesting challenge to Floyd.

All were southpaws like him. Floyd isn't a consistent southpaw.

williams was such an unsolvable awkward puzzle that only the great carlos quintana could handily outbox him

only southpaws? hell, even kermit the frog cintron was lighting him up

any fighter remotely close to their prime who could box and move a bit gave him hell. he didn't use his height at all either.

Margarito was the best matchup for floyd around this time. And floyd swerved him for that
