Rocky did keep the game going with his excitable fellow Italian fans before the advent of Lionel and Fammo.

He was a livewire - Vale Rocky.

I'm 68 yrs old and I can remember the hype around the Rose V Gatelleri fight in Sydney. It was a huge fight and my memory of the outcome, not broadcast, or I was too young to see it, was that Lionel went to hospital the next day to visit Rocky who was pretty badly beaten up. But then again I think Flyweight was Rocky's best weight. He was world rated at the lower weight and perhaps even had a version of that title, That's just my memory. R.I.P Rocky

Rocky fought Sal Burruni for the flyweight title but did not win it. I have spoken to Rocky a few times, we went to the same mechanic. My sympathy to his family, he was a tough little bloke.
