Agreed. He displayed pretty good defense vs Ibeh. Especially that sequence right before the KO.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑23 Jun 2023, 02:58 i get the impression that he gets lazy defensively because he dominates so easily and doesnt respect the opponent as a threat. he's never had to fight at even 75 percent. would love to see how he responds if someone starts pushing him

Tough clip to watch, on the fence about whether it's a good decision to put it out in the open. He should be levels above Martin, who's faded (and wasn't really much to begin with), but Martin can definitely punch. Interested to see how he deals with being clocked hard, which will happen if he hasn't improved his defence.
Seems like a humble guy with all the talent & physical attributes to take it to the top though. Should be a good watch Sunday morning.

martin is much better than he gets credit for. he bounced wilder's best win off the canvas, easily beat wilder challenger gerry washington, and just hurt anderson several times in going the distance (though clearly lost). he was a top usa am too.
aj destroyed him easily and quickly but no one else has even come close to that. he deserves more respect

Yeah. People talk of Martin like he’s a bum. He’s not. He didn’t help himself though fighting AJ in pretty poor condition.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑02 Jul 2023, 00:01 martin is much better than he gets credit for. he bounced wilder's best win off the canvas, easily beat wilder challenger gerry washington, and just hurt anderson several times in going the distance (though clearly lost). he was a top usa am too.
