The YouTube-star-turned-prizefighter told ESPN on Tuesday that he is now working with trainers Theo Chambers and legendary retired boxer "Sugar" Shane Mosley, along with his longtime coach J'Leon Love, a current boxer.
Diaz needs to get Homicide Henry on board then. That's a rivalry fans would pay to see renewed.
Lmao... I have no interest in Diaz, but Butterbean says he'll unretire and fight the Paul brothers :TU: I'd be all for that.

Press Release | Shadasia Green vs. Olivia Curry

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and Real Fight Inc. (RFI) announced that two super middleweight contenders, Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator Green” (12-0, 11 KOs) and Olivia Curry (7-1, 2 KOs) will be joining the Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz pay-per-view card live on August 5th. The 10-round matchup will be contested at 168 Ibs at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX.

Green comes to the ring off her latest dominating victory, a 6th round TKO, over former unified world champion, Elin Cederroos, back in February.

Curry, who boasts a decisive five-bout winning streak, will put her skill to the test as she steps in against the powerful Green.

Rounding out the card will be Real Fight, Inc.’s Alan Sanchez (22-5-1, 10 KOs) vs. Angel Beltran Villa (17-1, 10 KOs) as they go head-to-head in an 8-round welterweight bout.

Green, the former Team USA star who boasts an impressive 12-0 record with 11 KO’s and the record for fastest KO in a women’s fight, joined MVP after a trailblazing few years in the sport.

She is currently the mandatory challenger for Undisputed champion Savannah Marshall’s newly earned WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF belts.

As a former standout college basketball star, Green spent years as a starter for Old Dominion University (ODU) where she was impressively named Third Team All-CAA and ranked top 20 in the CAA in scoring. The Paterson, NJ native later broke out into the amateur boxing scene when she joined the U.S. National Team as a heavyweight after just five fights, earning a silver medal at the 2016 World Championships in Kazakhstan.

In 2019, Green transitioned to professional boxing where she quickly gained notoriety as a top female contender, ranking #1 in the WBC and IBO, and #2 in the WBA, ultimately earning her the Paterson Laila Ali Award.

“I’m at the top of my game right now,” said Shadasia Green. “I may be next in line for the super middleweight title, but right now, I’m strictly focused on knocking out Olivia Curry. The August 5th card boasts an impressive lineup of fights and it's an honor to share center stage with female boxing legends like Amanda Serrano and Heather Hardy. I can’t wait to show fans in Dallas and at home exactly why they call me ‘The Sweet Terminator.’”

Curry, the professional boxer out of Chicago, originally hailing from Cincinnati, OH, comes to the ring after winning her last five fights. The 33-year-old began her amateur fighting career in Muay Thai, winning the TBA Classic and fighting the best Class A competition in North America. As an amateur boxer, she won the Chicago Golden Gloves and went on to represent Chicago at the National Golden Gloves three times. Curry was nationally ranked as an elite female and competed at the 2018 USA National Tournament. As a pro, she is ranked in the top 5 middleweight contenders by major sanctioning bodies and The Ring Magazine. Outside the ring, Curry is a commercial filmmaker. She is managed by Trinidad Garcia and Rick Ramos.

“I’m grateful to MVP and Real Fight, Inc. for the opportunity to fight Shadasia and introduce myself to the world with a bang,” said Olivia Curry. “I’m coming to Dallas to win. I want to show that women’s boxing at the higher, more dangerous weight classes is leveling up.”

Would it be possible for them both to lose? How about a double KO? Hey, stranger things can happen, too. I don't like either one of them.

This should be more interesting than any of Paul's previous outings.

It should also be more lucrative than any of 'boxings biggest' star's previous outings.

I'd be a lot more keen on these, ahem, boxer v cage fighter matchups if the boxer would reciprocate the deal and enter the cage in the rematch.

No good reason why they shouldn't once they've had the proper training.

Nate Diaz will sell this fight... for a price, but he really shouldn't be gifting wins (and further legitimacy) to the likes of Paul.

Excellent business though.

Press Release | Deal Reached To Offer PPV Event on ESPN+

DAZN and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) have announced an arrangement with ESPN and Top Rank, which will see the fight between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz available for purchase on ESPN+ PPV in the United States, in addition to DAZN PPV.

The Paul vs. Diaz showdown will take place on Saturday, August 5, live at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.

ESPN+ subscribers can purchase the $59.99 PPV here, separate streaming subscription required.

"We are excited to offer fans this one-of-a-kind combat sports event on ESPN+ PPV, which is the result of incredible collaboration between ESPN, DAZN, MVP and Top Rank," said Matt Kenny, vice president of programming and acquisitions at ESPN. "We look forward to a great event on August 5."

Over the last 18 months, Paul and Diaz have traded scathing public jabs about a potential fight. Paul (6-1, 4KO's) will be out for revenge as he prepares for his first fight since his split-decision defeat against Tommy Fury. The Cleveland native is promising to silence the critics with a spectacular KO against the combat sport icon.

Diaz, who makes his boxing debut, regularly sparred undefeated Hall of Fame boxer Andre Ward during his career. Diaz has won 22-fights as a pro, including devastating Conor McGregor with a 1-2 that lead to the Irishman's first loss in the UFC.

"This arrangement demonstrates DAZN's, MVP's, ESPN's and Top Rank's commitment to bring the fragmented combat PPV market together to deliver one of the biggest PPV events of the year to fight fans on August 5," said Joseph Markowski, CEO North America, DAZN Group.

"DAZN is committed to bringing the biggest and best fights to the widest possible audience. We will work with all broadcasters, platforms and promotional companies to deliver the most entertaining and anticipated matchups."

It is uncommon for a fighter to do this, but Paul is seemingly determined to dispel theories of cheating that exist around his name on social media.

Jake Paul-Nate Diaz To Land As Second-Best Selling Combat Sports Event At American Airlines Center

Jake Paul and Nate Diaz are set to do big business by the time they enter the ring.

Their upcoming ten-round bout will headline a DAZN/ESPN+/PPV.com Pay-Per-View event this Saturday from American Airlines Center (AAC) in Dallas, Texas. The show is guaranteed to produce the largest live gate for any boxing event at the venue and its second-best for any combat sports event.

“It is remarkable to witness Jake Paul continue to break records,” stated Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions along with Paul. “Jake had the highest combat sports gate at Amalie Arena in Tampa Florida, the second highest combat sports gate at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona and now the second highest gate ever at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, an arena that has hosted six UFC PPV events.

“With global icon Nate Diaz as his opponent, this event will be his biggest yet and we are already seeing it across the board from media attendance, social media engagement, sold out tickets and commercial pay-per-view buys. The sheer volume of these numbers speaks to Jake's star power in what is just his eighth fight. Saturday night promises to be nothing short of spectacular.”

Added event partner and sports/entertainment consulting firm president Flavil Hampsten: “Elevate is proud to work alongside Most Valuable Productions and Jake Paul to curate distinctive experiences for combat sport aficionados, and entertainment seekers. We look forward to Saturday’s record-breaking event.”

The Paul-Diaz ‘Ready 4 War’ event is exceeded only by UFC 277 last July 20, topped by the Julianna Pena-Amanda Nunes rematch. That event had an announced crowd of 19.442 and produced a live gate of $4,555,691 in ticket sales.

AAC officials have informed Boxing Scene that few tickets are left for Saturday’s show.

“The world will be watching as notorious fighters Jake Paul and Nate Diaz face off in Dallas,” Dave Brown, AAC chief operating office and general manager, said of the event. “The demand for this fight shows why American Airlines Center continues to be a top destination for premier sports competitions.”

The card also features record-setting seven-division and reigning undisputed featherweight champion Amanda Serrano (44-2-1, 30KOs), who faces former WBO featherweight titlist Heather Hardy in the chief support. The all-Brooklyn battle is a rematch to their September 2019 battle, which saw Serrano drop a then-unbeaten Hardy in the opening round en route to a ten-round, unanimous decision to win the WBO title and begin her undisputed run.

Serrano who signed with MVP in 2021—fully unified the division in a ten-round win over WBA champ Erika Cruz this past February 4 at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater in New York City. The event also features recent MVP signee and top super middleweight contender Shadasia Green (12-0, 11KOs), who faces Olivia Curry (7-0, 2KOs) in a scheduled ten-round bout.

Paul (6-1, 4KOs) enters the fight off his first career defeat, an eight-round, split decision to England’s Tommy Fury on February 26 in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. The fight was his first versus an exclusive boxer, having previously defeated former UFC champions Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley (twice), along with MMA fighter Ben Askren, NBA star Nate Robinson and fellow social media influencer AnEson Gib.

Silva held a 3-1 boxing record and a win over former WBC middleweight titlist Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. before he was dropped late en route to an eight-round, unanimous decision to Paul last October 28 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Woodley made his pro boxing debut in his August 2021 meeting with Paul, who won an eight-round split decision. Paul scored a highlight reel, sixth-round knockout in their December 2021 rematch in front of a sold-out AMALIE Arena in Tampa.

Diaz will make his boxing pro debut in what should provide closure to a long brewing rivalry. The 38-year-old former UFC star from Stockton, California has turned up at several Paul events—often in support of stablemate Chris Avila, who fights on Saturday’s undercard, his third on an MVP event. The two camps nearly came to blows during fight week preceding Paul’s repeat win over Woodley in Tampa.

The scheduled ten-round main event will take place at a maximum catchweight of 185-pounds and with ten-ounce gloves, the standard for any boxing match above welterweight. Both the weight and the glove size are foreign to Diaz, who fought in the 155-pound lightweight and 170-pound welterweight division during his MMA career.

Diaz still carries enough clout to where his decision to box and in an attention-grabbing fight versus Paul was enough to sway the buying public.

“We have headlined incredible shows including Madison Square Garden in front of the first sitting President to attend a UFC fight,” stated Zach Rosenfield, president of Diaz’s Real Fight Inc. company which co-promotes Saturday’s show. “Nate makes his boxing debut, it is only appropriate that he does so in front of a sold out crowd in Dallas in front of an incredible fan base.

“Their support only furthers the excitement for this fight that continues to dominate engagement across social media, commercial PPV’s and more.”

Diaz isn't really bothered here is he?

He's just there to earn a paycheck.. Like the previous MMA guys who have boxed recently.

If you follow Jake Paul, the fights had a decent build.

Jake Paul is bad for boxing IMHO.

It's just not real IMHO. It just makes me feel uneasy for some reason. I get it as long as people pay it is what it is but I just feel weird about it.

The woodly & askren KO's seemed Suspicious to me.

I disagree with comms - I think it's a 4-4 draw, not an easy win for Sanchez..? :maybe:
