We all know that Canelo is on the FMJ's business model route and of course that what makes more money with an acceptable risk it makes the most sense for a boxing cash-cow/golden goose like Canelo.
But during this time what Benavidez will do ? Morrell, Munguia or Andrade would be good opponents for Bena.
Also I don't think the wbc or the wba would demand to Canelo to take his mandos in Bena and Morrell. Not at all. Canelo is the big huncho. 3% of Canelo's purse is good money. Why to upset Canelo?

Where has it been said canelo is eying Spence/Crawford? That simply could not be for the 168 belts hahah, all the greed in the world couldent get that sanctioned.

Spence's name has been thrown out there.Typical bitch move from Canelo. Spence gets the better of Mell in sparring, so ya'all know. Backfire. I think Crawford beats Canelo too.gregregegg wrote: ↑06 Jul 2023, 21:23apollo creed wrote: ↑06 Jul 2023, 05:59 We all know that Canelo is on the FMJ's business model route and of course that what makes more money with an acceptable risk it makes the most sense for a boxing cash-cow/golden goose like Canelo.

Benevidez, the boogie man, should fight Andrade or Morrell. Anything less is a duck.

Benavidez vs Morrell and Munguia vs Berlanga.

“We're not thinking about Canelo right now. If the fight comes across the table, I definitely will take that fight. I feel like 165 to 168, that's more my natural weight and a lot easier for me to make, so I definitely will take that fight,” Spence told a group of reporters. from BS
Tom Brown of TGB Promotions said last year he offered Alvarez $50 million for a Spence fight at 164 pounds as part of a two-fight deal that would have started with Alvarez fighting Spence stablemate Jermall Charlo for a guaranteed purse of $45 million. from BS
Btw Spence has bigger reach and height than Canelo and aslo Spence is a very muscular welter, more of a 154 pounder.
The fight would sell big time. Even T.C would not say NO to a Canelo payday.

Apollo. I think you make a thread about every single thing Canelo does and any possible opponent he could ever have

I mean...we already seen it man. Do you or anybody think Bivol COULDN'T beat him again?apollo creed wrote: ↑08 Jul 2023, 12:38![]()
Tbh I'm a little angry that Bivol didn't accept to fight Canelo at 175 and whoop him again.![]()
I don't think anybody believes Canelo can beat Bivol without some sorta extra advantage from the judges or officials so there's really no point. You'd just be giving team Canelo the chance to grease the right palms this time and probably get a decision he didn't deserve.
We saw it the way it should've played out the first time.
If they fight again I'd prefer it to be at 168 that way there's at least a bit of intrigue to it with Bivol now being lighter, and Canelo's titles being on the line.

I was just thinking that in the rematch Bivol would've stopped ginerboy, but yeah a possible crooked decision could've happened too. Gingerboy could've fought in a negative way, trying to jab and pot-shot here and there Bivol and with the right judges .... and voilà!gilgamesh wrote: ↑08 Jul 2023, 13:00I mean...we already seen it man. I don't think Bivol would ever stop him. He outboxed the sh*t out of him, but he never really came close to stopping him.apollo creed wrote: ↑08 Jul 2023, 13:42I was just thinking that in the rematch Bivol would've stopped ginerboy, but yeah a possible crooked decision could've happened. Re: Since Canelo will be busy with Charlos and Spence-T.C fight winner, what Benavidez will do?
I think Canelo lost one or two steps and he's starting to decline a little. He has too much wearing and tearing. Canelo looked ok vs Ryder but he wasn't spectacular. Bivol at 175 would've had good chances to force a stoppage if Canelo would've fought him in the same way by applying pressure. Also Canelo is gassing out faster at 175 + lbs.gilgamesh wrote: ↑08 Jul 2023, 13:44I don't think Bivol would ever stop him. That's probably why he didn't fight him again. Canelo ain't stupid, and he has all the options in the world. Can't fault him for that. He's earned it. He's got the deepest resume in Boxing by a wide margin.

Re: Since Canelo will be busy with Charlos and Spence-T.C fight winner, what Benavidez will do?
Of course he ain't stupid and that his resume is very deep. But you know , it would've been interesting to see how much power shots his big chin/thick neck could take from a top full fledged 175 pounder ?! I think Bivol has decent pop in his punches to stop a gassing out - bloated up Canelo. We know that Canelo is good/slick at ducking head punches but Bivol and even Ryder landed solid punches. I remember that Jacobs succeeded to land a very good left hand on Canelo's chin too.
But yeah Canelo is already an HOF-er and probably the greatest mexican fighter resume-wise.
Re: Since Canelo will be busy with Charlos and Spence-T.C fight winner, what Benavidez will do?
Benavidez will struggle to find an opponent I think.
In this modern protected fighter world, no unbeaten contender is going to risk it are they?
And I'm sure the other belt holders would be the same.

Re: Since Canelo will be busy with Charlos and Spence-T.C fight winner, what Benavidez will do?
If he can't get Canelo either this year (which is damn near a certainty) or sometime next year, I think it'd be a kinda boss move if he instead opted to go for Bivol as a way to one up Canelo.
Of course it's a risky proposition because Bivol obviously ain't just gonna lay down and get beat, but hey. If you wanna be the man you gotta make some big moves and take some big risks.
Re: Since Canelo will be busy with Charlos and Spence-T.C fight winner, what Benavidez will do?
Benavidez is in a great position to secure a fight with Alvarez fairly soon when you consider that he's finally secured the #2 position. If he keeps stacking-up decent wins, then his candidacy just improves. The only question is whether he should take on riskier opponents like Ryder, Munguia, and Andrade to maximize the value he offers? Or should he play it safe and take on easy opponents like Christian Mbilli and Erik Bazinyan? If he doesn't take out Munguia and/or Andrade, he's going to end-up competing with them for the shot (although, I doubt Andrade would be willing to fight a risky opponent anyway).

Everybody wants to get Canelo without risking their status/0s. Of course that probably Munguia would be the best option for Benavidez business-wise but Mung is with DAZN and also even Mung is aiming to cash in vs Canelo.Lackeos wrote: ↑08 Jul 2023, 18:56 Benavidez is in a great position to secure a fight with Alvarez fairly soon when you consider that he's finally secured the #2 position. I think Morrell would fight Benavidez but also Morrell is the wba mando for Canelo and of course Morrell would be a big risk - low reward type of opponent for Bena.
Ryder could be a good measurement stick fight, especially that Canelo went 12 rounds with him and Canelo didn't look spectacular.
Andrade is another option but just forget about him.
But instead of wasting their prime years, these fighters like Bena, Morrell, Munguia, Berlanga and maybe Andrade should fight each other bc Canelo ain't gonna stay forever in boxing. Maybe after the fights with Charlos and Spence/TC winner, Canelo may retire.
Personally I'd like to see Bena vs Morrell next.
Munguia vs Berlanga
Andrade vs nobody.
