jah will defo be getting in
mak maybe not. if pulev is voted out and a vacant spot opens, mak still might not make it. he's borderline and there are guys like dubois and maybe e fe out there who could edge it. if we expanded it to top 20 he'd get in, but it can be difficult enough filling in the last spots of the top 15
btw wtf is up with franky sanchez. gets a career best win over efe, and then subsquently has 3 fights no one cares about. fighting danny martz at this stage of his career is pathetic

Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Jared Anderson / Arslanbek Makhmudov
my ranking of guys currently active but unranked would prob be
jah
dubois (ridiculously overrated by boxrec at #6)
efe
big mak
takam
wallin
something like that at least....................a group like this could swing a lot of ways. despite jah not blowing martin out like most thought, a near shutout is still better than what most other guys have done lately. his win over black forrest cake was also a lot better than what other contenders or fringe contenders managed

Mak has 24 votes, Jah has 21..
As it stands, Jah enters at #15.. quite secure as well.
Mak is also #15, however he's very much borderline. Another vote 'remaining out' could leave him out.

According to Ruiz Sr., Frank Sanchez will be fighting Chris Arreola next

Yep, that will be a fairly easy night for the Cuban Flash. Just hope someone has had a word to him about coasting through fights, it ain't fan friendly.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑05 Jul 2023, 03:15 According to Ruiz Sr., Frank Sanchez will be fighting Chris Arreola next

I wish he (Sanchez) would fight Makhmudov. I think it would look like Lyle Alzado trying to box Ali.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑05 Jul 2023, 03:15 According to Ruiz Sr., Frank Sanchez will be fighting Chris Arreola next
Not buying the Mak hype, to me he's the new Alexander Ustinov.

If u go thru the boxrec top 50 heavyweights that are still unbeaten (minus fury & hrgovic), all of them would make a good next fight for mak or jah.
If i could choose their next fight i'd put mak up against big baby miller in a battle of the behemoths and get zhan vs. jah made.
Miller vs. Anderson would also be great, to determine 'who's the real big baby'?

Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Jared Anderson / Arslanbek Makhmudov
a 9-1/8-2 win over martin vs a 6-4/5-5 win over takam (legit win due to the kds though)
i wouldnt say mak's win should make him the higher ranked guy. they have other fights and we also have to look at what we saw in the ring. levels of opposition have been comparable, but i think jah has been more impressive in general. we are talking just a few places at most splitting their positions in the ranking anyway, that's pretty minor.

Jahs win over jerry forrest was probably as good as makes win over takem. These decisions arnt based on just 1 fight.CMCanavessi wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 11:49Then Mak's win over Takam is more valuable than Jared's over Martin, and yet people are voting Jared in and Mak out...![]()
I don’t have a huge opinion either way on it, I’d love them to fight and find out…
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Jared Anderson / Arslanbek Makhmudov
Anderson showed me a really great jab when I started watching him 4 years ago or so. That and his natural and fluid movement in the ring.
Then like others, he seemed to fall in love with his power vs less than stellar competition. Hopefully his last fight will get him right back on track.

Voting tomorrow.
He’s being dropped automatically.
No need to vote. It’s been a year.
Move everyone up one and voting someone in at #15.

Ngannou in at 15 because he's about to be an undefeated title challengerRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 17:02Voting tomorrow.

Efe, Mak, Dubois
They the only wrothy ones aren't they?

I forgot Efe somehow wasn't even in it. Efe and Mak are the only worthy two. Dubois is still quite a way off those two. Takam is probably above Dubois.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 Jul 2023, 04:10 Who should I shortlist?

Dubois is not top 15 in my view.
