EBU licencing update

I read recently that the EBU have introduced a new ruling - along the lines of - if a boxer cannot get a licence in the country where he / she is domiciled, then they are barred from getting a Licence or seeking permission to box in any country that falls under affiliation to the EBU.

Looks like this is designed to ‘close the door’
on, for example, a British pro boxer, who
cannot get a BBoC license, from applying for a licence in another EUB affiliated country.

Not sure how this applies to pro boxers, domiciled in the Uk who have obtained boxing licences from countries outside of the ‘ EBU land’- curious to hear if anyone knows more about this…

Watching the interviews it seems the game changing comments seem to refer to a different company promoting in Saudi.

Interesting - where did you read it? I can't find it on the EBU website, but it doesn't seem to be very up to date.

I picked up the news via a mate who lives in Lithuania.
You’re right, the EBU website isn’t particularly up to date - but from 13 May, all national federations (affiliated to the EBU) are not allowed to licence or issue permissions to box to non-residents.
