What’s happened to programmes?

I’ve noticed recently that they don’t sell them anymore. I used to love a good programme for the collection. I have quite a collection spread around various ex’s attics.

Just not the demand for them anymore. They’re relatively expensive and pretty much all of the info in them is widely available already.

When I was a kid I used to collect programs to every football match I went to or every St Helens rugby match and I’d imagine that was common for kids. Now I rarely see people buying them at all.

Oh, there was nothing new in them, I still liked one though. You still get the A4 ones at amateur shows, but they’re actually very useful.

I’d be far more inclined to get one at an amateur show as the money would likely go to support the club and I wouldn’t know much of what’s in there already.

At a big pro show I think you’d be lucky to get much change from £15 for a programme and that would just fund the wealthy promoter.

It’s usually just a bout list and adverts but that’s all you need!

I know Matchroom usually have their programmes via pdf on their website.

Nor sure if they still do.

I kept most of the ones where I was fighting, however over half I was listed as TBA or someone else was listed!
It was nice to be listed on a few big bills, got them on my wall
