Devin Haney Arrested in Hollywood Over Firearm Found in Car
According to a report on TMZ, undisputed lightweight world champion Devin Haney was arrested on Thursday morning following a night out in Hollywood, California.
Law enforcement sources indicate to TMZ that they found a semi-automatic handgun in his car during a routine traffic stop.
Haney was reportedly out at Catch L.A. on Wednesday. Just minutes after he left the hotspot around midnight, law enforcement told the outlet that Haney was pulled over due to an unsafe lane change and a failure to use a turn signal.
According to authorities, Haney was not driving - but the person who was told officers during the stop there was a firearm inside of the vehicle.
Law enforcement officials explain they then got Haney and his security out of the car, and when they searched the vehicle, they then found a semi-automatic handgun under the driver's seat.
Because no one took ownership of the firearm, and since the car was registered to Haney, he was arrested and booked for felony possession of a concealed weapon.
Jail records show that Haney was released at 8:12 AM Thursday on $35,000 bail. He's due in court for a hearing on the matter next month.
Back in May, Haney secured one of the biggest wins of his career with a close twelve round unanimous decision win over Vasiliy Lomachenko. On Wednesday night, he was trading words on social media with WBO junior welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez.

Re: Devin Haney Arrested in Hollywood Over Firearm Found in Car
The car belongs to Haney but he wasn't driving.
So does he not drive himself these days or was he too drunk to drive and gave the keys to someone else?
Haney needs to fire his........."security".
Security is supposed to help you avoid trouble.
Avoiding trouble includes not driving in a way that causes police to pull you over...

I would assum its illigal there to carry a gun , so avoiding trouble is NOT carrying gunsPerseus wrote: ↑13 Jul 2023, 16:35 The car belongs to Haney but he wasn't driving.

If the so-called security is legit you can expect them to be carrying legally.

I don't live in the USA so I don't understand how all this 'everyone has to have a gun to feel safe' sh1t works.
It reads like the offence in this case was 'carrying a concealed weapon.' If it wasn't concealed, would that have made it legal? Assuming that's the case, where should the driver have had the gun, on his lap? In his hand?

You have to understand how corrupt and capitalist America is. Our gun companies give some of their profits to gun lobbies to keep guns legal and drive up sales. Those gun lobbies fund the National Rifle Association, which is like a PR firm that masquerades as a civil rights group. The NRA brainwashes Americans into having a sexual obsession with owning guns, thinking it's necessary, and thinking that they're defying the encroachment of an authoritarian government by owning guns to keep the government at bay. This mentality is totally wacky, because the idea that the government wants to oppress and conquer you and absorb your state into their union has been an obsolete theory since the 18th century.Redback Rasta wrote: ↑13 Jul 2023, 22:57 I don't live in the USA so I don't understand how all this 'everyone has to have a gun to feel safe' sh1t works.
My father was well-influenced by the NRA's efforts. He was an NRA member, owned 30 guns, a 6-foot tall gun safe, an elaborate reloading station, various gun magazines (by gun magazines, I don't mean like clips. I mean like Guns & Ammo), etc.
America runs on political lobbies and brainwashing. Just like how there would be no climate change deniers if there weren't fossil fuel think tanks persuading people to fall for climate denial.

So is there a legal way he could have the gun in the car?Lackeos wrote: ↑14 Jul 2023, 02:05You have to understand how corrupt and capitalist America is. Yes but someone has to take responsibility for the gun.Redback Rasta wrote: ↑14 Jul 2023, 05:33So is there a legal way he could have the gun in the car?Lackeos wrote: ↑14 Jul 2023, 02:05You have to understand how corrupt and capitalist America is. According to espn his dad says Haney has licensed security.
IF that's true whoever has the carry permit should have taken responsibility for the gun.
