I will happily go on record now and say I believe Ali would have beaten Usyk. Really sticking my neck out with that one, but it’s out there now.

Said him and his brother Mike (also a fitter) boxed when they were younger .. Mike had surname of Robinson too; so did Mike's kids; you saying Mike may not be his real name either?
Do you think his wife and kids know??

BoxRec used to list his birth name on Luke Tyson Fury, but now they have incorrectly changed it to Tyson Luke Fury. I'm calling him Luke, because that's his name. It's not my fault that his parents named him Luke and then his father showed the world a fake birth certificate.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑15 Jul 2023, 19:30I’m aware what his name is.1194265 wrote: ↑15 Jul 2023, 18:33Because that's his name....... I dislike Fury plenty, but why do you insist on calling him Luke? He boxes as and is known as Tyson Fury.
He goes by the name Tyson Fury. He boxes as Tyson Fury. He calls himself Tyson Fury. His family call him Tyson Fury. His promotional team call him Tyson Fury. Everyone in boxing calls him Tyson Fury.
Usyk has referenced Luke v Tyson to explain that what people mostly see is a character, but other than that I can’t recall anyone calling him Luke for any reason other than attempting some kind of silly point scoring, which is how your use of the name reads to me.
If you say you call him Luke because you like to be respectful of his Christian name I’ll pretend to believe you and you have your fun.

Do you insist on this with every boxer who does it? Or promoters? Did you call Mickey Duff by his original name? I don't recall any other the other boxers parading a fake birth certificate. How do you know it is fake? I'm not defending anyones honour, he can call himself whatever he likes, I guess Tyson is a great name to have in the boxing world so much better to use it even if it is his middle name. Shrewd marketing. Did you know Jack Dempsey was called William? Jack isn't even on his birth certificate.1194265 wrote: ↑16 Jul 2023, 05:43I don't recall any other the other boxers parading a fake birth certificate. Minicabs Mickey is usually right keen on using the "Yorkshire Boys" boxers' proper names(no doubt tapping his "in the know" nose). Not so much with Luke Partridge, though.
Re: Fury. The legacy
Have you never come across anyone who gets called by their middle name before? Do you think there are some kind of regulations in place about which of your forenames you ought to be known by?1194265 wrote: ↑16 Jul 2023, 05:28BoxRec used to list his birth name on Luke Tyson Fury, but now they have incorrectly changed it to Tyson Luke Fury. Not at all. I don't have a problem with anyone using any name. My issue is Luke Fury lies about his name, like he lies about everything else.gp. wrote: ↑16 Jul 2023, 11:34Have you never come across anyone who gets called by their middle name before? In what way does he "lie" about it? Does he deny that Luke is one of his forenames?1194265 wrote: ↑16 Jul 2023, 12:58Not at all. I don't have a problem with anyone using any name. Re: Fury. The legacy
He lies by saying his name is Tyson Luke Fury, when it's actually Luke Tyson Fury. In fairness, he might not be lying, he might just be as thick as mince.
Re: Fury. The legacy
Does he? Have you any evidence that he lies about that? "Lies", in that tense, not that he might once have said it in passing 15 years ago.
Even if true, why on earth do you care? It's hardly important. Do you know anyone who, in their life, has never lied about anything which is so trivial and really not anybody else's business?
I don't care one way or the other about Tyson Fury, but when you see someone who is obessesed about some utterly trivial thing like this and won't shut up about it, it makes me (and others) think "Well if that's the worst thing Fury has done, he can't be that bad". It's counter productive to the point you are trying to make. If you think Fury has done bad things, talk about them, not this, which is not something anyone in their right mind would care about.

*Failed a PED test and uses Connor Benn's doctor..

*Avoided a rematch with Wlad
*Cherry picked a number of opponents with no chance against him
