ABCs need to crack down on rematch clauses, if one of their baubles are on the line then there should be no rematch clause allowed, if the winner wants to go over old ground immediately then he should be stripped, I don't mind exceptions for terrible officiating but all in all they need binned

Absolutely. Especially when the top guys barely fight twice a year it ties belts up for too long and fighters wait ages for a mandatory shot.

OK, Tone.
Well it looks like the former British heavyweight great Big John Fury is trying to arrange a fight with Mike Tyson for the undercard ..

What a fk1n joke the Fury's are.
Are you upset Heggie, Christie and Joyce might not get on?
Any of those idiots would be more entertaining than watching Big John it must be said ..

Eddie’s openly all about the money though. Tyson’s claimed several times in the past that he doesn’t care about money and would even fight for free, yet his actions are consistently contrary to that at the moment.

What I don’t agree with Eddie about is Fury turning down the Usyk fight. He technically didn’t - he was just so unreasonable on certain things that Usyk did walk away.

I don’t mind rematches too much but I think 2 rules need to be introduced for rematches involving world championship fights.

1. They have to happen quickly. The loser of the fight has to be ready to go again inside of 4 months otherwise he loses the right to it. I didn’t have a big deal with AJ rematching Usyk or Ruiz but they both should have happened quicker.

2. The promoter of the fight or the TV network the fight will happen on has the option to say no. We got a rematch no one wanted with Kambosos against Haney as the gap in class was too big and we’re seemingly getting a rematch of an awful fight between CBS/Okolie. In both cases almost everyone bar the loser of the original fight would rather the rematch didn’t happen.

But if he's fighting Mike Tyson, as you say, that would bring astronomical numbers to the show. Great move, if your source is correct.

John Fury wanting to face Mike Tyson in Saudi is out there - little chance Mike Tyson would do it though is it. He did an exhibition against an all time great in Roy Jones and talked of another against another all time great in Holyfield. Little chance against some guy who at his peak was not even British title level.

What is it that makes you want to see it? The Tyson Fury connection?

So if the John Fury v Iron Mike fight happens and John loses, we can look forward to Tyson v Tyson in another six months or so. Tyson Fury seeking revenge etc etc

The thread goes on! You can guarantee whatever further decisions Tyson Fury takes with his career, they will involve if not zero, close to zero in terms of risk.

It could also make brain damage. Grandfathers and boxing don't mix.

Mike Tyson insists on wearing safety goggles if the bout happens. John Fury calls him a "feather duster" and says Mike's not a real fighting man.

He definitely indulged in some serious bloviating when his bluff was called. At least Mickey1975 just said no thanks to my offer of a sparring session and didn't come up with any crazy demands or start challenging former world champions instead of me.

AJ probably thought Fury's offers were make believe, so, in reality, he hasn't turned down any offer, unlike Fury running into a third fight with Wilder once terms with AJ were agreed.

What is not disputed is that Fury's one fight this year will be against an aged MMA fighter, who hasn't had a fight in 18 months, and never boxed before as an amateur or as a pro.

Boxing is a dangerous enough sport as it is without freak show, barbaric events like this.

Similarly, I didn't think it was particularly healthy to put Fury in with a 40 year old Chisora for a third time, a Chisora who had lost 3 out of his previous 4 outings.

No doubt it will be Fury vs Jon Jones after Ngannou.

How will Fury play this 'fight'?

The reality is, if Fury took on Ngannou in MMA he would get completely iced comfortably inside the first round.

Therefore, does Fury need to make a statement and try and do the same thing to Ngannou in Round 1?

Or will he try and give the fans their moneys worth and allow it to go a few rounds?

Either way, I don't know what the attraction is for the fans. A lot of people who are critical of the fight have said they will still watch it, but why, when the winner is known in advance?
