Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | Showtime PPV - July 29, 2023
- A bit meh on this fight that should've properly happened 3 years ago.
Spence with one fight since in his comeback from what should've been his fatal car wreck was off balance and out of sorts vs the dreary ancient Cubano Ugas. He did manage to fight his way into the fight with a TKO, but the fight was a farce with the always regrettable Laurence Cole as referee, perhaps the worst current ref in boxing.
Meanwhile, Crawford's trainer BoMac has blown up to 450lbs that mirrors Crawford's blown up ego. The guy needed blatant lowblows to deal with a past it Khan, something he'll get penalized for vs Spence. While not as big as Manny vs Floydy, this fight has the potential for as much stink as a fight delayed too often has.
The Vampire Haymon in his underground infrared Vegas Bunker has more sway with officiating than 90 year old fossil Arum, and very likely this to go to decision. We all know how Vegas likes to butcher their decisions as they did with Manny/Floydy where they had to correct the official scorecard to illegitimately legitimize the result...only in boxing, folks

I heard some rumours about Haymon, Mayweather and Ellerbe that can't be discussed on this forum.

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | Showtime PPV - July 29, 2023
Apparently they both have rematch clauses in place.
It would also appear that winner can dictate the weight at which any possible rematch will take place.
The important consequence for Crawford will be that if he loses tonight he will have to move up to 154 for the rematch.
Errol Spence has made it quite clear that his body has had enough of being squeezed down to 147 time and time again.
On the other hand they are both said to be getting at least 8 figures each, possibly even up to $25 million, so if all goes well business wise, they might make Spence an offer at WW that he can't refuse.
As they say, never say never.

It was a masterclass by the Boxing Guru Crawford. I didn't give Spence a round. Crawford felt him from the start. Angles, timing, precision - Bud was superior at it all and didn't give Spence a chance.

A masterclass it was indeed.
There is Crawford, daylight and then the rest.

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | Showtime PPV - July 29, 2023
That was boxing masterclass by Crawford. Man i favored him, but did not expect that. Charlo have luck to moving up and fighting Canelo, because Crawford would be 3 weight undisputed before end of year. Crawford vs Ennis next please

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | Showtime PPV - July 29, 2023
Man , Crawfords jab was monstrous all night long. Lot of power behind that. For most important fight of his life, Crawford just came in best shape of his life and delivered best performance of life. Impressive, impressive, impressive. He is at his very prime, so hopefully he spend that primetime wisely.
Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | Showtime PPV - July 29, 2023
Crawford has the last relevant fight in the WW, which is against Ennis. Then he should move up. Mell decided to cash out against Canelo, but the Tszyu fight will also be popular. Actually, then it's possible to fight Mall at MW, if Mell remains in SMW. So many opportunities, Crawford just must be more active than recently, such talent can no longer be wasted.
