At his best, Blackburn could have beaten any lightweight in history. I rank Gans number one followed by Duran and Leonard, but at his best Blackburn was one of the best.

Jack Blackburn wasn't just an ATG lightweight. He is arguably one of THE best fighters there ever was who never won a world title, and if he was given a shot, he would have been champion. He could have been champion in virtually any era. He also fought from every weight class from lightweight to heavyweight. He also is responsible for making Joe Louis into arguably THE greatest HW champion of all time.

He was quoted at one time, because Jack Johnson said Joe Louis couldn't have beaten him, "That big cat never gave anybody any credit, he wouldn't want any part of Chappie."

Chappie is what Blackburn called Louis and what Louis called Blackburn.
