I'm going to say Whittaker by decision.

Seems like the common sense analysis based prediction.

8-5-2 in rounds.

Buchanan would have plenty of moments, but Sweet Pea is Ultimately Too Slick and Quick.

Whittaker "out taps" Buchanan in a close, no action where neither guy lands a solid punch.

Buchanan was an excellent stand-up boxer who moved, defended, and jabbed better than most lightweights of his era. But Whittaker was quicker and more slippery, in addition to being the more savvy tactician. So Sweet Pea's got an edge.

The bout would seem more like badminton than boxing.

Could be a controversial decision, much like Whitaker's "win" over DeLaHoya in 1997.

Oscar got the decision over Sweet Pea when they fought.

The decision was disputed. 11 out of 24 ringside reporters - all big media people - thought Whittaker won. I agreed.

The fight was analogous to two chess players facing off, doing nothing for long periods of time, moving a pawn here, moving a pawn there, game over. Imagine a boxing match like that. Whitaker-DeLaHoya was, and Whitaker-Buchanan would be the same.

I would pick Ken Buchanan by decision. That jab of his would be the key

Sweet Pea's southpaw jabs would find it too awkward for Buchanan and he'll outbox the Scottish legend with fast jabs and counterpunches to take a decision.

Whitaker. He was just better. He was better than most remember. I think he was one of the greats.

2 slick guys. Whitaker's slicker. Whitaker wins it.

Rounds where he showboats, and f*cks around a little too much will go to Ken, and Ken may legitimately outhustle in a few rounds as well. So I see it as like a 8 rounds to 4 win for Whitaker.

In a 15 rounder make that more like 9 to 6.
