Exactly :TU:

https://www.mmanews.com/.amp/news/bob-a ... rists-sake

On Aug. 26, McGregor and Mayweather will do battle inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be McGregor's first professional boxing match. As for Mayweather, he'll go for a perfect 50-0 record to close his career. Speaking to TMZ Sports, boxing promoter Arum expressed his dismay over the bout (via Bloody Elbow):

“There’s a limit to the number of suckers (that will pay). If they reduce the ticket price, (they can sell out). It’s not a fight, for Christ’s sake. And three weeks later, De La Hoya’s doing a hell of a fight, (Gennady) Golovkin and (Canelo) Alvarez. That’s a good fight.”

https://www.joe.ie/sport/bob-arum-belie ... dea-573366

Arum - Mayweather's promoter for over a decade - insists that the American would wipe the floor with McGregor in a boxing match, although McGregor would dominate if the pair was to meet in the Octagon.

“It’s preposterous. Conor McGregor is probably the leading mixed martial arts professional, that’s a different sport from the sport of boxing," Arum said.

“McGregor in the ring with Floyd Mayweather or any other reasonably good professional would get destroyed in a boxing match.

“They’re two different sports and to talk about McGregor fighting Mayweather in a boxing ring is just talk, it is not a competitive match.”

And then who will you have to cheer against?
Heavyweights that actually fight are pretty thin on the ground nowadays.
In fact just an evening of boxing good or bad is something to celebrate in my eyes.

That KO looked very suspicious.

I doubt he will lay down quite so easily for Joshua .. I see Helenius turning up just to survive and making Joshua look even worse.
Wilder fights often look suspicious. The way people react when he hits them is something else.
Joshua has all the advantages, should win inside the distance. Maybe the big guy will test his chin.

Anthony Joshua is wearing boots which give him an extra 3 inches, that's why they look the same height.

See the weigh in on Friday and Helenius will be wayyy taller.

Odds are funny lol.
What did you think about Chisora saying fighters failing PED tests should be banned for 10 years? If applied, Fury's 'Wildboar' situation would have meant years in the wilderness.

Incidentally, if you are saying that Uysk punches are like pillowcase hits, will it be tough for BT/TNT Sports to sell Uysk vs Dubois? How do you have such a low opinion of Uysk but have to sell his next fight? Is it hard to reconcile?

Did you listen to the Simon Jordan vs Eddie Hearn Talksport interview?

Simon heard something about Eddie going with a new testing agency where Matchroom will be the judge and the jury (That part is at the end of the interview)

Getting duffed up once a year and then Franklin and Helenius isn’t the stuff of heroes.
Ps I’m aware of Fury’s recent record.

Am I mad?
The word on the street is Helenius does thump like a train, but you look at the Whyte fight which was years ago and obviously being poleaxed by Wilder. I just can't see past a highlight reel KO win for AJ.
The Whyte fight was bizarre. He seemed to have Dillian completely sussed for a couple of rounds, timing him like a dream, then stopped trying like there was a script he'd forgotten.
Helenius had only one week time to prepare for Whyte fight. He also had flu. He just run out of stamina quickly in that one. If he was healthy Whyte would have gotten the Kownacki ending

I love the sheer inanity of a Joshua press release:

“I respect Helenius and may I say, I respect any male or female who steps into the ring." - so the announcer, referee, chief seconds and the ring card girls as well? I love the rhetorical flourish of "may I say". Yes, Anthony, you may.

"I am laser focused on the win." - sounds like every Tory MP interviewed in the last few years. I hope he delivers on the people's priorities. Stop the Viking invasion, particularly if they are coming by boat!

As for Helenius and "I am a true Viking", always important to differentiate oneself from those fake Vikings that are often hanging around.
