This is laughable considering there are 3 more competitive options at 168, all with a much better chance of beating Canelo.
A 154lber who has been out for a year and a half? Probably a rehydration clause too. What's next, the winner of 147lbers Spence vs Crawford? Maybe he could lure Amir Khan out of retirement for a rematch? Jake Paul anyone?
Fuk Canelo. Hope he loses. He just flipped off all boxing fans.
It's not about the competitive options in modern day boxing.
It's not about pleasing or appeasing boxing fans either.
It's all about the business and the Benjamins(The Money !).
Canelo knows what he's doing. Business over Notoriety.
Screw the hardcore boxing fans IS Obviously his personal internalized Slogan.
So Longs plenty of Casuals Fork out The Dough(The Money !), for his methodically carefully selected opposition/opponents.
In defense of Canelo, I can only conclude, He's Smart. He's Wise. Similar to Money Mayweather, from the business side of things. Why would he sign up to fight Benevidez when the money is plentifully there versus a much safer opponent..?!
Why get beat up badly, win, lose,or draw(Which he obviously Would versus D. Benevidez), when you have a Safer More Practical Option of defending versus an opponent that will only be an opponent instead of a Dangerous Liability to you're Body and Well-Being.
Let's face it, Canelo at the end of the day is a 5'8 semi-shopworn businessman boxer at this point in time.
Why would he care to put it all on the line versus a Much Bigger Much Younger Hungry Snarling Lion such as D. Benevidez..?!
This bout versus "Jermell Charlo" will actually be a good solid bout when all is said and done. It's overall a fairly even enough boxing bout. Canelo will either get a fairly close Points Win, or A Gift Draw, if Jermell has his number, and looks like he edged it. After this bout, Honestly, I'd Love to see The Winner of Crawford-Spence Call Out Canelo.
Like I stated, with the Obvious Realities. Canelo being 5'8 and basically being on the down-slide portion of his businessman orientated boxing carear,..Craw or Spence taking on the Little Red Muscleman would have no real true size advantage disparity involved. Reach is size as much as any other form of size, and "Craw" (Whom I'm picking vs Spence) would have 4 inches of reach over The Little Red Businessman Muscleman Boxer "Canelo Alvarez".
So, Substantial Reach, as well as a slight advantage "Still Yet"/"Yet Still" in speed, for Craw, even with the Extra-Weight on his Frame.
