Press Release

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced their main event for its second Most Valuable Prospects event on Friday, August 18 in Orlando, Florida.

The WBA Fedelatin title bout will feature super-lightweight Puerto Rican-American talent Nestor “El Mas Bravo” Bravo (21-0, 15 KOs) and Will “Ill Will” Madera (17-2-3, 10 KOs). The 10-round bout is contested at 140 lbs and will be taking place at the Caribe Royale Resort.

The Most Valuable Prospects series is produced and promoted by MVP, with Boxlab Promotions serving as the official licensed promoter and is distributed by DAZN.

Bravo, the undefeated fighter out of Orlando, FL, by way of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, is ranked seventh in the world by the World Boxing Association as a super lightweight. The cross-weight talent also holds the WBO-NABO junior welterweight title, which he won in October 2022 by stopping Adrian Yung in seven rounds and becoming the second fighter ever to do so.

Bravo hopes to return to his winning streak after facing a disappointing no-contest against WBC Latino Champion Jair Valtierra in February 2023 when Valtierra clashed heads with Bravo in the fourth round. He is trained by Bob Santos.

Madera, the Puerto Rican super lightweight out of Albany, NY, comes to the ring following a series of high-octane matchups. The orthodox fighter handed Brandun Lee the first knockdown of his career via a vicious overhand right in August 2022, ending in a narrow loss after Lee got up at the 11th second and won the bout. Previously, Madera stopped Jamshidbek Najmitdinov (20-1) in the 5th round of their faceoff at the Barclays Arena in October 2021 and defeated Thomas "Gunna Man" Mattice (13-0-1) by a unanimous decision in February 2019. Madera, a father to six, is trained by Ty Goldston.

Four Bouts Between Unbeaten Prospects Grace Most Valuable Prospects II DAZN Undercard

Four bouts featuring unbeaten boxers will grace the undercard of the next Most Valuable Prospect event.

Boxing Scene has confirmed that Damian Lescaille and Hugo Noriega will meet in the co-feature of the August 18 Most Valuable Prospect II event from Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Florida. The scheduled ten-round welterweight contest anchors a four-fight supporting cast preceding the previously announced Nestor Bravo-Will Madera main event.

Puerto Rico’s Bravo (21-0, 15 KOs) is among the nine unbeaten fighters to be featured on the main DAZN telecast.

“Most Valuable Prospects II is stacked with talent and the potential to find boxing’s next big thing,” MVP co-founders Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul said of its second show of the series, in a provided joint statement to Boxing Scene.

Rounding out the undercard: welterweights Elijah Flores (5-0, 2 KOs) and Elijah Williams (6-0, 2 KOs) meet in a scheduled six-round contest; Lorenzo Medina (7-0, 4 KOs) faces Antonio Torres (4-0, 4 KOs) in a heavyweight bout scheduled for six rounds; and Antrevous Ingram (5-0, 2 KOs) collides with Orlenis Licea (0-0-1, 0 KOs) in a four-round junior middleweight affair.

Medina, Ingram and Licea all appeared on the May 26 Most Valuable Prospects I undercard from the same venue.

“This prospect series is one of a kind as we have the top young fighters in the game going head-to-head,” stated Amaury Piedra, managing director of Caribe Royale and president of BoxLab Promotions, who co-promotes the series. “We’re happy to be working with Jake, Nakisa, and the entire team at MVP on our second installment of the series.”

Lescaille appears on the series for the first time but is a familiar face at the location. The 24-year-old Cuban southpaw—who trains under Ronnie Shields out of his Houston, Texas facility—made his pro debut last October 15 at Caribe Royale, where he will appear for the fourth time in five bouts. He literally faces a tall order in Noriega, a 6’2” welterweight from Miami.

Similarly, Flores will appear at the venue for his fourth straight fight. The 19-year-old from Redlands, California enters as arguably the more tested fighter versus the 20-year-old Williams, who steps up considerably in class.

Bravo is unbeaten but hopes to return to the win column after coming up empty in his previous outing at this location. The 29-year-old prospect from Arecibo, Puerto Rico was forced to settle for a No-Contest in his February 25 bout versus Jair Valtierra, after a clash of heads left him bleeding profusely just outside his right eye to force the end of the bout at 1:55 of round four. No decision was returned since the fight did not go beyond the fourth round.

Madera represents a stern test for the risings prospect. The Albany, New York native is just 2-2-1 in his last five starts, though it included a ten-round defeat to unbeaten Brandun Lee whom he dropped in the third round of their Showtime-televised bout last August 20 in Hollywood, Florida.

Serrano-Signed Amateur Star Krystal Rosado Makes Pro Debut On Aug. 18 MVProspects II Show

Krystal Rosado is armed with an all-star team for her pro debut.

The former amateur standout for Puerto Rico’s national team will face Michigan’s Tarrethia Dixon in a scheduled four-round, junior bantamweight bout this Friday on DAZN from Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. The bout is part the second installment of Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) prospect-based series, headlined by fellow Boricua prospect Nestor Bravo, who faces Will Madera in a junior welterweight bout.

Rosado is managed by record-setting, seven-division and reigning undisputed featherweight champion Amanda Serrano, who will be in her corner on fight night. Both hail from Carolina, Puerto Rico, a mere part of the instant connection that prompted the legendary Boricua southpaw to manage Rosado and bring her to the MVP family.

“I met Krystal years ago in Puerto Rico when she was 15 years old. Krystal and her mother used to attend each of my boxing matches and over time, we became incredibly close,” Serrano said of her 20-year-old protege. “She has an immeasurable amount of untapped potential and her growth as an athlete is already remarkable. We’ve spared a few times over the years and now at the age of 20, she has the skills necessary to make it in this business.

“Even [MVP co-founders] Nakisa [Bidarian] and Jake [Paul] were very impressed by her tenacity and determination in the ring. It’s an honor to help her as she embarks on this next part of her career and I look forward to being there Friday night as she makes her debut.”

Rosado is the third female boxer to sign with MVP, joining Serrano (45-2-1, 30 KOs) and super middleweight contender Shadasia Green (13-0, 11 KOs). She will be the first to appear on the DAZN-exclusive prospect-based series which first launched in May and now carries Celsius as its exclusive energy drink sponsor, from which Rosado will benefit early in her career.

Hardly a soft touch is applied to her pro debut. Kalamazoo’s Dixon (1-0, 1 KO) enjoyed a quick hit in her first fight, a June 24 1st round knockout of Natalie Gray, another former talented amateur boxer, on the road in Aurora, Colorado.

“MVP started this series to promote and provide a stage for the most promising, young talent out there, no matter what gender,” noted Bidarian and Paul in a joint statement. “Amanda has been the biggest supporter of female athletes and it’s a privilege to watch her offer her advice and expertise to Krystal. August 18th will be a big night with a lot of surprises coming out of the ring.”

Rosado will serve in supporting capacity to Arecibo’s Bravo (21-0, 15 KOs) in his DAZN debut.

DAZN Weigh-In Results From Orlando, Florida

Nestor Bravo and Will Madera are set to headline the second edition of Most Valuable Promotions’ MVProspects series.

Both boxers made weight for their scheduled ten-round regional junior welterweight title fight, which headlines a DAZN show Friday evening from Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Bravo checked in right at 140 pounds for his first DAZN-aired main event.

Madera was 139.9 pounds after briefly removing his underwear to hit the mark. He initially weighed in just over the 140-pound limit but was able to come correct without having to leave the stage.

Madera represents a stern test for the rising prospect. The Albany, New York native is just 2-2-1 in his last five starts, though it included a ten-round defeat to unbeaten Brandun Lee whom he dropped in the third round of their Showtime-televised bout last August 20 in Hollywood, Florida.

DAZN Main Undercard

Damian Lescaille (4-0, 3KOs), Miami Beach via Camaguey, Cuba, 146.9 pounds vs. Hugo Noriega (8-0, 5KOs), Miami via Santa Clara, Cuba, 147.8* pounds—10 rounds, welterweight

* Noriega will have two hours to make the 147-pound contracted limit

Elijah Flores (5-0, 2KOs), Redlands, California via The Bronx, New York, 144.8 pounds vs. Elijah Williams (6-0, 2KOs), Newburgh, New York, 144.1 pounds—6 rounds, welterweight

Krystal Rosado-Ortiz (debut), Carolina, Puerto Rico, 114.1 pounds vs. Tarrethia Dixon (1-0, 1KOs), Kalamazoo, Michigan, 114.9 pounds—4 rounds, junior bantamweight

Bravo wins a UD, 96-94 x2 and a plain wrong 99-91, I agreed with the 96-94 scores for Bravo, just about done enough to eek out the decision, he began well, getting to work quicker, catching Madera from mid range, not always clean but enough to keep Madera honest, Bravo switched lefty in the 5th and that was first round I gave Madera, Bravo went righty not long after but Madera began having success with short compact punches, again not always clean but it was a bit scrappy especially second half, Bravo should've had a point or 3 off for repeated fouling, shouldering, low blows and the holding was incredible, the ref was hopeless, continuesly giving Bravo final warnings without ever taking a point off, if he did Madera might've nicked it

Not a great fight
