So the last 3 major drugs test failures have come from additional testing I.E. not driven by the people licensing the fight.

Benn - VADA through WBC followed by VADA through his bout agreeement with Eubank.

Whyte - VADA through the Joshua deal.

Baumgardner- Drugs Free Sport testing which I believe is additional testing paid for for the Lindaratou fight on top of the commission testing.

What’s concerning to me is that I’d imagine this type of additional testing is only being done with c.5% of fights/fighters. Probably not even that much.

I think it’s almost unusual for us to go through a fight night RBR without one of us observing ‘here that guy/girl looks suspect.’

I’ve long accepted that nigh on everyone is on it. I’ve been sure Mayer and her little garden is on it for ages and didn’t know about her mate Fuchs popping hot as an am.

It’s amazing as I was a half decent athlete when I was young. I used to finish 6th or 7th in the Welsh championships in swimming but can honestly say I wouldn’t want to take drugs if it meant I’d finish those few places higher and end up swimming at the commonwealth games. These athletes on drugs have such an incredible mentality to me that it must be that they all know that everyone else is on it meaning their just doing what they have to rather than doing anything wrong.

Yes but so do the commissions and sanctioning bodies. Just a reminder, there were 64 pre fight UKAD tests last year and 153 post fight tests.

Take the Queensbury fights tomorrow night. The chances are that not one fighter on the bill has had a drugs test during camp and one fighter from the bill will have a post fight drugs test (using the numbers from last year and assuming similar this year).

Matchroom handled the Conor Benn stuff really poorly but seem to be doing more additional testing on top of the mandatory testing than the rest. That may be because Eddie just tells people more about it but it makes you wonder if this is just the tip of the iceberg.

We know 99% are on something so it's no surprise but I suppose they are failing the tests because they are getting tested more. Anthony Fowler said he never had a drugs test in his career. That tells you a lot.
