Re: Should Proven PED Cheats Be Allowed In The IBHOF?
Sadly, I suspect the IBHOF would be thin on the ground if PED cheats were banned.
I don't get why Matchroom are coping so much stick for fighters failing PED tests. It's the fighters, their close team's fault.
Also, I think the Government bodies need to really introduce peoper bans. If not life, then at least 3 or 4 years. There needs to be an incentive not to do it.
Humans are humans, though. No one is perfect, so it will be impossible to stop PED use, but I think there are ways of heavily reducing the number of users.

If they knew about the test before induction, they could choose not to let them in.big lennox wrote: ↑21 Aug 2023, 08:15 Sadly, I suspect the IBHOF would be thin on the ground if PED cheats were banned.

Is Shane Mosley in there? He’s literally on camera admitting to it in some kind of police/fbi interview.

I don't understand this forum!
Everyone says they shouldn't be allowed in... so you are deadset against it.
Yet, about 50% of you said you would happily accept taking drugs to become a boxing star (over being a clean WBO champ).
Cynical bunch!!!

Cynical bunch!!!If I was offered the choice of being a bank robber with the guarantee I’d become super rich and never get caught. I’d happily take that too, but obviously it’s morally wrong.

Ideally not but I suspect plenty don't get caught. Also testing wasn't really around in older decades, or if it were it wasn't that great due to whatever juristicaton it was done in etc... so its not on a level playing field.

You can’t criticise others for immoral behaviour if you would do it yourself!
Are you seriously saying you are not a bank robber, just because you would get caught?
Re: Should Proven PED Cheats Be Allowed In The IBHOF?
I'm the one guy that sticks to my guns on this issue anytime it comes up.
Should they be allowed in? Yes.
And I take it a step further and say everyone should just be allowed to take 'em if they wanna. Level the playing field that way it isn't just the well paid fighters with the shady managers and slick people in their team getting away with it. It's everybody on an even field.
Take it or don't take it. It's not mandatory, and honestly I don't think it's gonna make you some unstoppable fighter automatically either. There's lots of guys I think legitimately are clean, and wouldn't wanna put that sh*t in their bodies, and I think they're perfectly capable of beating a guy on PED's.
PED's don't make you some kinda superman. Contrary to popular belief.
I personally think it's ridiculous that people get so high on their horse about this issue in a sport as f*cked up from the ground up as Boxing.

Re: Should Proven PED Cheats Be Allowed In The IBHOF?
I get the sentiment but I don't agree. PEDs won't turn a crap fighter into a good one but they can make guys a lot stronger and recover quicker. If someone wants to stay clean they are at an instant disadvantage when fighting the top guys who are drugged up.gilgamesh wrote: ↑21 Aug 2023, 14:06 I'm the one guy that sticks to my guns on this issue anytime it comes up.

I would love it if more cheating ****s are found out…
Iam highly p*ssed off certain high profile boxers have got away with it.
Whats even more annoying and outrageous is it is utterly clear some boxers were found out but have used legal loopholes concerning privacy so they were never named.
Look at boxers who have retired early due to supposed injuries … how many were due to failed drug tests?

Re: Should Proven PED Cheats Be Allowed In The IBHOF?
most people dont care too much about peds, it's all about their feelings on who gets caught
for example it's very rare to find someone who will blast each of fury, whyte, ortiz, miller, canelo, jones jr, morales, and mosley without picking and choosing, despite them all being ped users
basically most people just use peds as a weapon against boxers they already dont like

Which is why I'm one of the few people who's not a hypocrite on the issue because I simply don't care if anyone is on them.

Whilst I will agree tentatively with your point its a fact there are some unscrupulous individuals whomargaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Aug 2023, 13:03

Have used loopholes in the system to avoid being outted.

All you really gotta do is know which palm to grease. You can get away with anything if you pay off the right guy.Spud wrote: ↑25 Aug 2023, 13:14Whilst I will agree tentatively with your point its a fact there are some unscrupulous individuals whomargaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Aug 2023, 13:03

The ones that get caught, don't know which palms to grease or don't have the money needed to satisfy the people they need to pay off.
So THAT'S my problem with PED's. Only the well off, superstar boxers can afford to get away with it. Everyone should be able to.
