we need a " was it too low thread "
which for me it clearly was - the entire glove was on the shorts

Dubois landed a lot of low blows in that fight. At least one on the thigh. I genuinely think it was part of the plan.

handsofstone wrote: 26 Aug 2023, 18:59 The thing is with borderline shots is that theyre neither here nor there, I thought it should've been a KD but not the very worst call, low blow doesn't mean in the cock and balls, just below the waistband which kinda leaves it up to the refs discrepancy and ours as well tbf, neither side of the coin here can definitively say their right because its a massive fist sized grey area
i dunno, i feel like i can definitevly say it was low unless the ref gave dubois permission to land most his glove below the waist band

Image
See id be lying if I said I knew the exact rules here, I've always felt borderline is just about fine, not quite low enough but the ref usually makes it clear in the instructions, not sure if he did

thing is he gobbed off about winning by any means and so the refs / judges would have been on alert .

from what ive seen, if someone has their trunk high, ref will say on the waist band is legal. but here duboi's clearly smacking him well below that, and im not sure the ref called usy's trunks high anyway

If they were on alert, they would have noticed more of the low blows.

It wasn't the balls or cock it was the abdominal area IMO.

its really cynical to have built the entire game plan around illegal low blows rather than try and make a real fight and KO the guy like he said he would .

Yeah, but the whole protector moves with the impact and with an uppercut the momentum drags it up.

I'm a big Usyk fan but I think he was just winded with a powerful shot to the belly? Apart from.thst he absolutely bossed the fight though.

He gave Usyk 5 minutes and didn't take up the count.

a low blow doesnt have to be a full on shot to the balls anyway, lowest ive ever seen a ref explicitly say is that when a fighter's trunks are high it okay ON the belt line. never seen anyone say it's okay to target below that

If you've been outboxed then land a body shot that had your opponent disabled for minutes surely you'd carry on with that tactic ...it's a no brainer

He didn't look winded to me, he looked shocked. That's what I saw.

Probably be a good week to avoid IFL/BOXING SOCIAL/SECONDS OUT ect...

-Frank will be saying his man KO'd usyk, and the fiix was in on forein soil.
-Ed will be saying AJ lost a split, DDD didnt win a round and got stopped by a jab...
-and all the other gremlins will be clinging to whichever one of those storys fits there narative.

At least eds story is technicaly true, although a bit misleading.

He definitely spoke to him about it. No point off, but definitely words.

Punch wasn't low, the "low" picture is because soon as punch landed usyks hand is coming down and pushes it down but after it has landed

so what your trying to say is the punch landed low.... so it wasnt low. very interesting perspective.
