Re: David Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade | PBC PPV - Who wins?
Currently, PBC has Canelo vs Charlo set for PPV on Sept. 30, and it’s expected that Keith Thurman vs Yordenis Ugas will be finalized for PPV the fall, too. If Gervonta Davis fights again by the end of the year, that’s a guaranteed PPV, and if a potential Crawford vs Spence 2 fight comes before the year is out, that’s another one. And there could be others packed into the last few months of 2023, not even counting whatever potential PPVs come from DAZN or ESPN/Top Rank.

Hope its gonna happen. Decent fight. Bena should win. Andrade wasted a lot of precious time to chase big money fights.

SOURCES: DAVID BENAVIDEZ VS. DEMETRIUS ANDRADE TO BE ANNOUNCED THIS WEEK
One of the more intriguing matchups is rumored to be formally announced this week for a Showtime PPV at a date in November. Interim WBC super-middleweight champion David Benavidez (27-0, 23 KOs) will defend his title against former WBO middleweight champion Demetrius ‘Boo-Boo’ Andrade (32-0, 19 KOs).
This fight is risky for the 26-year-old Benavidez, who had difficulty landing a big fight at super middleweight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, who is busy for the foreseeable future. The fight has been rumored for about two weeks since Dan Rafael first broke the news of the fight being finalized, but then ProBoxTV was able to get the forecasted date of November for this interesting matchup.
This past weekend, ProBoxTV caught up with Jose Benavidez Sr. on the struggles of finding an opponent for his son. “Everyone is trying to fight David (Benavidez) on social media, but no one wants to step in when it comes down to signing the contract. We were negotiating with (David) Morrell, but that didn’t happen. We were negotiating with Jaime Munguia, who asked for 50/50 on the PPV. We gave it to him, and they decided not to do it.”
This fight looks to be heading towards the finish line, which Andrade desperately needs as his career has been filled with “What ifs” after winning the middleweight title. This is more risk than reward for Benavidez, but it also shows that he is staying true to his word and fighting the best available guys out there. This year continues to keep the flame going with high-profile fights, and it was much needed after a few years of matchups not being made that the fans wanted to see.

Re: David Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade | PBC PPV - November 2023
David Benavidez Believes He's Too Big and Too Strong For Demetrius Andrade
David Benavidez has spent most of his career taking on the bottom feeders of the super middleweight division. That, of course, was never his intent. For the 26-year-old, he simply wanted to face the best of the best. Now, things are finally falling into place.
Earlier this year, the current WBC interim champ faced his first elite opponent in Caleb Plant. Having banked that win, Benavidez (27-0, 23 KOs) is now on the verge of marching straight into another big-time matchup.
According to Mike Coppinger of ESPN, Benavidez is simply crossing his t’s and dotting his i’s as negotiations between himself and Demetrius Andrade continue to move in the right direction. Although the former two-division champ has presented his opponents with bemusing tricks and crafty angles, Benavidez believes he’s seen the likes of Andrade before.
“I feel like he’s the same type of fighter,” said Benavidez to Boxing Scene when asked to compare Andrade to Plant.
It isn’t every day that Andrade finds himself involved in one of the biggest fights of the year. For much of his career, the former Olympian believes he’s been avoided. Perpetual call-outs of Canelo Alvarez, Gennadiy Golovkin, and Jermall Charlo didn’t amount to anything. So, reluctantly, Andrade (32-0, 19 KOs) took on who was available. Although it led to world title reigns in two separate divisions, Andrade’s level of opposition has been chastised left and right. Those criticisms, however, will be a thing of the past if he lines up against Benavidez.
Likely to be viewed as the favorite heading in, the 26-year-old isn’t sleeping on the undefeated former champ that will be standing across the ring from him. His respect level for what Andrade brings to the table has always been at an all-time high. With that said, there are parallels to the impending clash between them and his showdown vs. Plant. Ultimately, while he expects Andrade to give him one helluva fight, Benavidez predicts a second-half offensive avalanche.
“I feel like I’m just too strong. Once we get to the middle rounds I took over and I see the same thing happening in this fight.”

Re: David Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade | PBC PPV - November 2023
Andrade is a 35-36 y/o boxing prospect , an old-ish and not so hungry "lion" who fought a bunch of stiffs to protect his 0, so Bena should stop him in 9-10 rounds? On paper it would look like a good win for Bena. Decent scalp.
But who knows, maybe Andrade is really a special fighter and he would box Benavidez like FMJ did vs Canelo?

Another fantastic fight for the fearless Benavidez.
Andrade might be any number of things at this time in his career but he's certainly no pushover.

Re: David Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade | PBC PPV - November 2023
It's well known that Andrade's career has been a mess over-all, but it's not totally his fault.
He would have the following guys on his resume, win or loss, if they hadn't refused to fight him:
Jermall Charlo, Canelo Alvarez, Jamie Munguia, GGG, Caleb Plant, BJ Saunders. (Pissed hot, but refused later)
Andrade's mistakes were not taking fights for small money like Mell Charlo and Janibek, that would given him respect. A boxer's ego gets in the way sometimes. I think Shak Stevenson currently has that problem.
Andrade is a live dog in this one, even at his age.

Time is ticking away very fast for Andrade. He'd need to fight Bena and risk his 0. Too much time wasted.

Andrade finally gets his chance at a fairly big name, and it's gonna get him beat the f*ck up.

Throw Beterbiev on the card, it's in November in Vegas so he'll be fully recovered.
Make him a co feature or whatever you want to call it.
Benefits everyone and makes it very appealing.
Arguably the two hottest boxers in the sport today on the same card has it draws.

To add a third would be a liberty but I'll ask anyway, Inoue against a hand picked is fine by me if your offering.
Benavidez
Beterbiev
Inoue
I think we need more double and triple headers.
Re: David Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade | PBC PPV - November 2023
Not anywhere near a PPV main event type fight. There would need to be atleast 2 other fights on this card that are atleast equal to this bout to even consider buying it. No one even knows who these guys are, seems a extremely hard sell to the casuals regardless how they promote it. It's A ESPN+ caliber fight or a co-main PPV fight at best.

Not sure why the moderators haven't figured it out by now, but pathetic insults like this are the reason why this forum has lost many good posters, that like to talk boxing. Team Benavidez boxing IQ is high.
I say he stops Andrade or beats him comfortably.

Re: David Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade | PBC PPV - November 2023
“That’s what his opinion. I don’t think I’m looking like Caleb Plant as far as the overall tools and abilities that I can do when the pressure is on,” said Demetrius Andrade to spam about David Benavidez predicting he’ll gas out in the second half of their fight in the same way Caleb Plant last March.
“If he feels like Caleb Plant was a good stepping stone for him to say, ‘We’re ready for Andrade,’ I guess it’s a compliment. I want the same ring as Plant.
“154, 160, 168, I’ve been daring to be great. It’s going to be a great fight. We’re going to put on a show. May the best man win, of course, but it ain’t going to be easy. That’s what I’m saying.
“My part of the agreement was coming over here to PBC and Showtime and saying, ‘Yes,'” said Andrade when asked if he signed his part of the agreement to fight Benavidez.
“They’re both good in their own ways. I’m not here to break down things. [Jermell] Charloknow how to do things from the outside, not as well inside. David Benavidez is really good inside, but not much outside,” said Andrade when asked to compare Benavidez to Jermell Charlo.
“It depends on what type of fight. Styles make fights, and the thing about me, I can go in the ring and fight any style I need to win. I believe if David Benavidez hurries up and signs his contract, we’re going to see who is the best at 160.
“That’s what I believe. Call David Benavidez. Call him, find out,” said Andrade when asked what the hold up is on Benavidez not signing the contract.

“I know you don’t get too many people saying let’s make this sh!t happen but let’s make this sh!t happen,” Andrade told BS.com. “Speed the process up.”
“The boogeyman vs. the monster. Let’s make this sh!t happen!”
So, there is no real almost done deal thing. Just some talks. Bena wants Canelo/Mell winner. Maybe Andrade should try to get Morrell Jr or Plant.
