Ol Fish eyes behaviour after DDD loss

Post by cormack »

Ok so yes I know he is the promoter of Dublois and is expected to support his fighter etc etc .. as he should .
However this is a regulated sport with rules - albeit often left to some degree of subjectivity on the part of refs and judges .
He was / is blatantly trying to have the referee`s decision overuled or at least challenged to force a rematch.
Made me think why would you risk whatever goodwill and credibility you may have by going out on such a limb like that and it occured to me that this isnt about the fight or Dubois its actually all about £££ and in particular Tyson Fury .
Because as sure as eggs are eggs had DD won those belts even by the illegal low blow then his next fight would be against Fury where clearly he would just get stopped and lose the belts - rinse and repeat for the rematch leaving the self proclaimed lineal king sitting at the top of the pile of cash .
And this I believe is why the entire warren camp and all associated cling ons are raging mad & losing the plot about being robbed - not only of the fight but more importantly the mega dosh that they would then control if all four HW belts were held by their fighter and the clout it would bring .

" counting chickens before they have hatched " springs to mind .

You should have stopped there because after that, all you did was criticize him for doing exactly what you said he is 'expected to do.'

he brings out the worst in me :TU:

but if your strategy is to hope that one fighter can win illegally so you can then mismatch him against TF then frankly its just cynical .

It shows.

For the record, I believe it was a low blow and I have already said so. But if I was Dubois' manager I would be pushing back against it too. It's his job. Just as it would have been Usyk's manager's job to push back if that punch had have been deemed legal and cost his man the win.

If FW believed in Dubois anymore he would have bid enough to bring the fight to England.

The noise he is making now is an attempt to make a man who was soundly beaten and stopped by Usyk a credible opponent for Fury after the MMA man.

If I was DDD I'd be more upset if FW hadn't chirped up.

It also took away all of the quit talk that would have been the focus without the controversy. A convenient smokescreen.

The way they all cried about the low blow in the ring after the fight was total cringe. Was on a par with David Haye blaming his small toe for the Wlad loss.

Yeah.

I’m more surprised/disappointed by people involved in boxing and being paid for their opinions not having a clue what the rules are.

Spencer Oliver, Carl Frampton, Adam Catterall, Sam Jones and several others. All talking as though a low shot is only one that hits the balls.

Out of the guys on TalkSPORT the only one with an actual idea about the rules was Andy Clarke but even he wasn’t sure.

I've never seen Fwank ever complaining when an 'opponent' on any of his shows has been counted out, despite being up at the count of 10. Malik Scott against Chisora springs to mind, when Scott was alert and on one knee waiting to get up between 9 and 10, which he did. There have been hundreds down the years and Fwank never had a problem with any of them..... strange that.

Did he complain about DD getting counted out? No way did he want to continue he was getting spanked and had had enough

dd did the exact same thing against joyce, wait on a knee until about 9.5 then start to get up. after the fight he admitted he was disheartened, it was obvious to anyone with a clue that he wanted no more.

Exactly. If you were in Dubois shoes and your manager didn't kick up a fuss under those circumstances you would feel like sacking him. Any manger worth his salt would have gone in to bat for Dubios.

Dubois barely made the count in the 8th and that was even with the bell going to end the round, thats why I knew he wasn't getting up second time, he's not got the minerals to become a top level fighter

Spot on :salut:

Trying to deflect from the bigger reason they lost - in Hayes case he was too scared to engage. In Dubois case he was too scared to continue

It seems that he has a half decent chin but is scared of getting knocked out so would rather avoid it by going to the canvas. Having such bad defensive movement doesn't help him.

Someone should ask Fw*nk where all this energy was when Sheeraz fouled Skeete by hitting him when he was on the canvas three times. I didn't see him campaigning for a no contest there.

Allegedly wants Usyk-Dubois declared a no-contest but here he is talking about his fighter Hamzah Sheeraz's controversial fight with Bradley Skeete in December 2021 and addressing any calls for it to have been a no-contest. "They don't alter the results of football matches if they feel the referee got something wrong" he says. "What's happened, happened!"

But of course not a peep from Brick Top when Hatton also went down from a shot in a similar place from Tszyu, then whacked the champion in the balls in response (which he all but admitted to later on)

FW is doing his job, the result won't be changed but if enough fuss is made he might be able to keep his interm belt, high ranking etc

If he convinced enough gullible idiots that Dubois is the rightful champ or the result was unjust then it might sell a few more tickets when he crushes a can in his next fight. That's all Frank is looking at. No way he believes his own bollocks.

Pretty pointless pointing out inconsistency’s in promoters. Shalom, Hearn (both Barry and Eddie,) Sauerland, Warren, Hennessy. You can make a 20’minute long video on every single one. At the end of the day if you’re a boxer you want your promoter going over the top backing you up.
