Come now Doofy, despite you repeating it again and again and again, everyone knows the truth that Fury decided long before negotiations to fight Chisora, and they also had non-boxer Ngannou lined up last year as well.
Bless you for keeping on trying.

Fury still favourite. Bigger, strong and has ring smarts and mobility far in excess of the heavyweights Usyk has been beating.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Who wins?
It's an academic argument now. Fury is content boxing ancient versions of D Whyte and D Chisora, followed by pro debutant F Ngannou.
The Netflix series shows he has no intention of boxing Uysk, especially that scene with Team Fury and his Dad and Ben Shalom and him are talking about Chisora being a good opponent.
Uysk vs Fury will never happen, so pointless us talking about it. You need two fighters to want a fight to happen. Uysk wants it but radio silence from Fury and his quality of opposition says it all.

based on his fights from some years ago perhaps ie wilder 2/3Redback Rasta wrote: ↑27 Aug 2023, 15:57 Fury still favourite. Bigger, strong and has ring smarts and mobility far in excess of the heavyweights Usyk has been beating.
but we havent seen him in the last couple of years fight anyone who could be considered risky .

There's a lot of issues. Ageing - both Fury and Usyk are going to lose athleticism soon. Usyk will likely lose to somebody else soon. Joshua will retire. And there won't be much left. Fury will effectively see out his career on these novelty events now.

Whyte was considered risky for Joshua and everybody else and Fury simply obliterated him. That was just over a year ago.stevec@france wrote: ↑28 Aug 2023, 13:36based on his fights from some years ago perhaps ie wilder 2/3Redback Rasta wrote: ↑27 Aug 2023, 15:57 Fury still favourite. No, I don't believe Eddie but his narrative that Whyte was ' a dangerous opponent' for Joshua was swallowed by far more than should have been the case. Hearn says it often enough and it becomes a lot of people's truth.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑28 Aug 2023, 18:19 did you believe eddie?

It's the spin that makes boxing go around. Take it too seriously and you'll only succeed in getting dizzy.... :lol:margaret thatcher wrote: ↑28 Aug 2023, 18:23my man's a promoter, he's there to promote fights. obviously doing a good job then if that's the case. glad you saw it for what it was going to be , another brutal joshua ko winRedback Rasta wrote: ↑28 Aug 2023, 18:22No, I don't believe Eddie but his narrative that Whyte was ' a dangerous opponent' for Joshua was swallowed by far more than should have been the case. Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Who wins?
Just imagine how stupid Fwank felt having to build up Fury v 38 year old Chisora after previously stating:
Warren said Chisora should walk away and then dismissed any notion of a trilogy fight with Fury.
“Chisora should retire, end of the story,” Warren said. “The only way Tyson fights Chisora again is if we were struggling for an opponent or if Tyson insisted on it.
“He [Chisora] should retire. He shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the ring, let alone in there with Tyson.”
Promoters huh?

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Who wins?
After seeing how slow and cumbersome Chisora looked against Washington, and then remembering it took Fury 10 laboured rounds to finally wear him down just back in December, i'm favouring Usyk to out-slick Fury.
Fury's a student of the game and he's obviously seen something in Usyk's style that made him put in all those ludicrous demands and find a way out of the fight. He'll be hoping that Hrgovic can somehow find Usyk's chin with a big right hand so he (Fury) can have a more relaxing time against a style and pace more suited to how he wishes to fight.

Favour Fury but I think he's on the slide. Usyk has better footwork, faster hands, better cardio and can punch in combinations. there is a lot to like about him in this fight.
Fury has the long levers, a great one two is defensively sound and knows how to use his size to his advantage. It's an intriguing fight.

As close to a 50/50 fight for number 1 as you get.
Can hear convincing arguments for either man. Far more convinced that it won't happen, though.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Who wins?
Fury’s too big and knows how to use his size, unlike AJ. Plus he’s an underrated body Puncher. He may even make It look easy. Usyk will certainly have faced nothing like it at heavyweight. Starting to think people overplay Usyk heavyweight campaign. Yeah he turned over AJ, but he was ripe for the picking

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Who wins?
Fury wins for me but he doesn't seem that fussed in having the fight, at least in the immediate future, also suggests he's a bit wary or waiting for Usyk to age quicker.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Who wins?
Fury has got to be the favourite based on his size advantages, and the couple of past good performances - and an overlook of the more past bad performances.
Fury will be punching down which will give Usyk an advantage. Plus Usyks speed and better skills to actually be able to take full advantage of it too.
Some mention Fury's underrated body punches, but those body punches were never the sharp punches that would likely bother Usyk - but more the bludgeoning type which a slickster like Usyk would make Fury pay for each time he tried it.
The referee is the deciding factor. If Fury is allowed to fight dirty by jabbing, grappling and leaning on then Fury wins.
A referee who stops Fury grabbing and have to fight will mean Usyk wins .. maybe even by stoppage.

Disagree. They are sharper than Dubois and his CERTAINLY bothered Usyk.

At some point presumably it will dawn on even the most stubborn fans that Fury is just noodling about in his final years. You could come back to this thread in a year and it would be the same old shit!

what's the closest fury has fought to someone like usyk? stylistically otto wallin maybe? that was a very rough night for him, certainly more than dubois was for usykSteveh583 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2023, 12:38 Fury’s too big and knows how to use his size, unlike AJ.
