Hi guys
I just discovered that Efe Ajagba is new WBC Silver Champion! On Boxrec I saw that the fight against Kossobutskiy was for the WBC International title. So what's the deal? It's really confusing, to me Makmudov is the WBC Silver champ he won it last year and there was no defense yet, is it vacant or what? Please help me to clear up that mess.
Both belts Silver/Int. have not much meaning but for staitistics it counts! Thanks a lot

The only correct answer is "who the f*** cares about those stupid nonsensical titles"?

Ajagba vs Makhmudov would be an interesting heavyweight matchup.
Re: Efe Ajagba new WBC Silver Champion?
Not sure I would call it cowardice, as I think most fighters would "tap out" after being hit with 21 "unintentional" low blows by the end of three rounds.Tony1244 wrote: ↑28 Aug 2023, 20:18CMCanavessi wrote: ↑28 Aug 2023, 19:18 The only correct answer is "who the f*** cares about those stupid nonsensical titles"?![]()

Good fighter and I enjoyed his victory against the coward who tapped out. But regarding this belt? I don't give a flying fvck.
The referee set the rules at the start of the fight, Ajagba was "unintentionally" dirty as fornicate, and not a single points deduction.
Zhang was "intentionally" dirty a handful of times in response, and got DQ'd.
It was another rigged game by TR

Re: Efe Ajagba new WBC Silver Champion?
Just saw the Anderson vs Rudenko fight, and Anderson was given a WBC Silver belt & WBO International belt, but the result was announced as WBC USA & WBO International Champion. So I guess he was given the wrong belt. Confusing....
Re: Efe Ajagba new WBC Silver Champion?
Both fighters hit low and the ref could have taken a point away from Ajagba as well. Ajagba's low blows were more on the borderline while Koss' were flagrant. Also these flagrant low blows happened to come right after Ajagba hurt Koss with clean shots. Koss turned away on more than one occasion after he was hit cleanly to the body (shots landed on skin). Yes after that last warning, Koss fouled out because he saw that he could not win legitimately.Finkel wrote: ↑29 Aug 2023, 02:13Not sure I would call it cowardice, as I think most fighters would "tap out" after being hit with 21 "unintentional" low blows by the end of three rounds.Tony1244 wrote: ↑28 Aug 2023, 20:18CMCanavessi wrote: ↑28 Aug 2023, 19:18 The only correct answer is "who the f*** cares about those stupid nonsensical titles"?![]()

I agree Kossobutsky's were more flagrant, you are correct there. But the why is not quite accurate, imho.Tony1244 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2023, 11:15Both fighters hit low and the ref could have taken a point away from Ajagba as well. The first big one came right at the start of round 3 after getting hard in the nuts right in front of the ref. The ref even agknowledged it, but again no action was taken. This was after Zhan got hit by more than 10 shots below the line (no skin) in round 2, unintentional or not. So Zhan retaliated.
The second point deduction low blow, also came in retaliation, in round 3. Ajagba hitting him below the line (no skin) multiple times. Again unintentional or not, it was far too much.
The third one in round 4. Yes I agree, it wasn't directly in response to a low blow from Ajagba, and you are correct Zhan likely knew he couldn't win legitimately at that point. But I think that was more due to completely checking out of the fight after getting hit low (no skin) 20 times across across rounds 2 and 3, and the referee doing nothing about it.
Personally I blame the referee, but it was disgraceful from both fighters and initiated by Ajagba.

each landed low, but efe stayed composed while zhan completely lost his sh!t
Re: Efe Ajagba new WBC Silver Champion?
I agree Zhan completely lost his shit, but getting 1 points deductions for your second low blow after getting hit low 15 times with the ref taking no action will do that.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Aug 2023, 19:08 each landed low, but efe stayed composed while zhan completely lost his sh!t
I suppose you are right that Ajagba "stayed composed". If by that you mean, he cynically complained to the ref and threw himself to the floor after he literally hit Zhan with the same ball shot in the clinch seconds earlier.
The referee was a homer, it's undeniable. Imho, they brought Zhan over to lift his belt off him by any means necessary. It wasn't a sporting contest after Round 1.
