That uppercut wasn't landing on the pelvic area.
I like Usyk very much but we can't have double standards regarding lowblows. Now the next opponents of Usyk , will know that Usyk has a soft spot and he doesn't like body punches.
Referee was doing a poor job. He stopped the fight too early. Dubois wasn't that badly hurt.
When I first got involved in boxing (1970s and 1980s), that punch probably would have been regarded as a legitimate body shot. In those days boxers usually weren't allowed to wear their trunks so high.

Not a low blow but once its called a low blow what can you do. If it wasn't called a low blow he was done even if he got up, altho DuBois probably woulda screwed that up. He took a knee on a jab and quit...pathetic.

He was constantly ducking down and aiming shots at the target on the front of Usyk's shorts. not the belt line. The one at the start of the 5th was so low and with such force, even with the camera behind Usyk, you can clearly see the impact ripple bulge across Usyk's left hip. Some people have a strange idea of human anatomy to think that was a fair shot.
Then right after being warned of a DQ, the first shot Dubois throws is another low blow: a right hand straight into Usyk's left hip.
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois | ESPN+ - August 26, 2023
He reminds me of the idiot Golata. He should have been DQ'd.
As Tony Bellew pointed out, it was clearly below the navel, so a low blow. Maybe Usyk should pull his shorts up to his chest like Fury does.

3 funny things about this fight:
1. Everybody talks about low blow controversy
2. Nobody talk about fact that it Dubois landed MULTIPLE low blows in the fight and some of them was murderuous power punches from massive heavyweight fighter with high KO percentage. Really glad this happen, because haters and people before TV pretending it is normal to taking punches to the balls. This sh*t needs to be punished more.
3. Nobody talk about fact Usyk knocking Dubois out

Yes, even after losing every round and repeatedly crouching down to hit low and repeatedly going down on one knee Dubois seems to be getting most of the attention and sympathy.
For Usyk to come back after being so painfully winded in a clearly illegal fashion and then stop Dubois was a real achievement.
Anyone who's ever boxed will know just how difficult that was after getting your protector punched by an uppercut.
The fact that other fighters such Andre Ward continuously got away with hitting low has little, if anything at all, to do with this.
It's clearly wrong and no one should ever have to put up with it. The referee Luis Pabon was 100% correct, no matter what Usyk or Dubois thought.

to a hopelessly biased one, Don Charles and FW did not come out of this very well at all. Perhaps they were slightly biased?

The BreadBasket area is Below the Navel area, and Below the BeltLine area. It was Technically a Low Blow, even though it may have not been directly on the Groin Area.
I was Struck Hard in the BreadBasket area during an Outfield Collision, while playing Kickball at the Local Recreation Center, back in the summer of 1981, at the age of 11.
I'll Never Forget the Very Prolonged Agony I experienced. I was Writhing in Agony for at least a Good Half Hour.
As i allready stated, BreadBasket area and Groin Area are Both below the Navel, so they're both in the Low Blow area, and getting struck in the BreadBasket area is at least Equally Debilitating to the Groin area.
Getting hit in The Groin area is more extremely painful, initially, but, getting hit in the breadbasket area has a pronounced debilitating effect that definitely drags on considerably longer, based on my own personal experiences.
On YouTube I've been trying to explain and reason with all these random biased haters, and it just doesn't sink in with people that have obvious blatant hatred and bias towards the boxer that they were rooting against.
People that choose to watch and follow Boxing Need to work on becoming Boxing Fans instead of Boxer Fans.
And they also Need to get rid of they're hatred and biased mentality.
Usyk won fair and square.
The Ref made the Right Call.

It is true that people need to become fans of the sport, not some boxer fanatics, but this is precisely what the Usyk fanbase is. The man was knocked down, very possibly knocked out and it ain't the first time he bends from body shots and pretends they are low blows. Aside from that, Pabon is a very bad referee (reminding you about the Klitschko-Povetking fight) - that is objective, as it's factology, not an opinion.AngryGoon38 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2023, 10:50 The BreadBasket area is Below the Navel area, and Below the BeltLine area. Nice Action Photos. WoW, Dubois Does wear them trunks Very High..!!
Once again, the punch Definitely landed in that very uniquely vulnerable area, sometimes referred to as
"The BreadBasket area". Try this sometime, Tighten you're abs, and lightly punch You're Abs while you're tensing them. You can handle the punches Good !!
Next, tighten you're Abs and feel around you're BreadBasket area. It remains soft and squishy. And thus, even light punches to that area will Hurt !! It's Not Truly part of The Abdominal region, even though it's only very slightly below that area. Thus, why That Area is in "The Low Blow" Range.
Dubois was excessively winging out those "Lead" body punches, Haymaker style. He was Not being Discernfull in that regard.
That is Not a proper fundamental approach in a boxing match. That is utterly a Reckless approach.
Body punches are for Close Quarters. That is basic boxing 101. Throwing body punches Haymaker style is as much Silly and unfundemental as is the way Jeff Horn was throwing those Charging in Ram style punches versus Crawford.

- Usual monkeys moaning about every fight every week ad infinitum. Replay showed the main impact area of the knuckles was below the beltline.
Dubois and his promoter certified dirtballs as is the Big Monkey ducking AJ and Usyk by making fake offers.
Pabon don't have replays and made the right call thankfully. Not so our resident monkeys who know who they are
