Dev a pretty bad troll.

Thoughts on last night Smith clearly went into the ring as a injured fighter and made Eubank look good, in reality i reckon Nathan Heaney would have beaten Smith last night.

Hope the Benn fight is next.

All positivity of Eubank's performance ended for me as soon as he said he wanted to go onto bigger and better things then preceeded to call out benn, brook and ggg. Jesus christ, no shame.

the thing about eubank we shouldnt forget is he offers zilch to the sport - always been the same just out for himself and ££.

Calling out Benn who is an inexperienced welter that hasn fought in over a year - brook another welter but now retired and way past any best - Golovkin also way past his best and probably retired as well .

The mad thing is the 160 division is wide open if he was serious about winning a belt .

but no he will look for an easy pay day - just like when he fought a washed up degale .

Great call outs to be fair. maximising risk vs reward. I would add mung and berlanga to the callout list though.

This is the result I thought was going to happen in January, I knew Eubank would be different this time around - no shame on Smith - if they have made money on this promotion then why not have a decider for bragging rights - I think the ankle/massive cut is a reasonable alibi if they want to have a third but if they are going to have a third then why not have it at 165 to 168 so there are no alibis then and then both Smith and Eubank will be able to make the weight without really cutting down - it must be murder for Eubank to make 160 moreso than it is for Smith.

I think Eubank underestimated Smith the last time around and Smith took advantage with a great inside the distance win - Eubank got the result I think most of us expected in January - if there are weight issues then there don't have to be for the third, there are no titles on the line - make it at 168 - hell, make it at 175, who cares?

Both of Smith's ankles looked dodgy.

Not as nice as Magpie fish and chips.
Over priced food both restaurants.
I'm on about the chip shops. The Magpie one next to their main restaurant and Trenchers the other side of the swing bridge.

agree, coms were talking about his right ankle, i saw him roll his left a couple times. afterwards he mentoned dodgey ankles (not an injury just shit anckles).... Why not have super tight laced high ankle boots then... very weird all of it.

Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns. The ghost of Hagler. Eubank might beat them all.

Agreed , total incompetence from the camp in general.
He looked really off and flat wonky ankles aside .

His brother Paul always wore the low tops. So does Loma. Wonder what the difference is? Cos I couldn’t imagine anything other than high and loads of ankle support for boxing, but what do I know?

Smith says not making excuses but bad back, bad ankles which if they were so bad then he shouldn't have been fighting.
The Smith family will have to be looking at another world title shot for Paul Smith if they want to be involved in anything meaningful now.
Frazer Clarke was woeful, doubt he is even English title level at this rate, not sure what they can do with him at his age

Exactly, why even risk it to look cool?
I know when I turned my ankles playing footy they were strapped to buggery for years after .

It was good to see Eubank box normally - hands up, work off the jab, combinations - instead of trying to fight like Jones. Jones was a one-off.

Most fighters only care about how much money they can make for the least risk and Eubank is no different. I honestly don’t think they care as much about legacy and fighting the best most of the time, they want as much money as possible and I guess why wouldn’t you. It’s a short and dangerous career and when you are retired the fans move on to the next new prospect.

Doesnt seem very fair to the fans to take the fight knowing you have injuries and weight issues that mean you cant win .
PPV as well .
Often fighters are pressured by the channel and the promoter.
and by their own bank balance !

Smiths always been a good pro but this leaves a bit of a sour taste .
Not the loss cos it happens but all the immediate excuses .
Excuses or circumstances?

Clearly that was not the Smith we expected. His last fight took almost nothing out of him so something was amiss. As a fan I want so e idea of what happened. Sounds like the injury killed his chances.

For me it was clear Smith was not right and the explanations from Team Smith seem entirely plausible.

With that said prior to second fight mocked
Eubanks explanations for what went wrong in the first fight.

In some ways you could say Eubanks gave Team Smith a dose of Karma.

One of the things about being a pro is sucking up injuries, almost everyone is carrying something

Look at the stick JC got, and FW only put up with it because Calzaghe was so good.

The likes of Smith tend to get frozen out if they don't fight.

He made the weight and was fit, you gotta fight

he wasnt fit to fight ...
And said so himself afterwards too much quick weight loss / couldnt move / his corner screaming instruction to throw and he couldnt .

Maybe someone with more knowledge of these things can answer, if for arguments sake Smith was crocked and required pain killing injections or something to control swelling while training, would those meds cause a failed VADA test? Just wondering if that’s why they dropped VADA?

Smith barely threw a punch. Great for Eubank. But you cannot possibly say he wasn't compromised.

All the people saying last night was what they were expecting for the first fight are being a little dishonest.

Nobody predicted that Eubank would win every round and that Smith's output would be so low.
