15 Rounds Heavyweight Bout
Johansson would overwhelm Blin with powerful punches and finishing him off with a big right hand to knock him out in 4 rounds. What do you guys think and who do you got?
Ingemar Johansson vs. Jurgen Blin
Re: Ingemar Johansson vs. Jurgen Blin
Johansson wins, but not necessarily by stoppage. Blin, during his prime, had the skills to last the distance against someone like Ingo. So maybe Johansson scores a KO, and maybe he doesn't.
Blin was never KO'd in his prime, which was roughly 1970 through 1972, during which he held a top-15 or top-20 rating. Only after his KO loss to Muhammad Ali did Blin start to fade, losing by knockout to Joe Bugner and Ron Lyle before retiring.
I could imagine a peak Blin giving a good account of himself against Ingo. But then again, maybe he'd walk into a Johansson bomb and get stopped. Who knows.
