😂😂😂😂 are you blind?it’s awful
I like it, it's still in its raw stages, if we can start getting girls who've been training as kids and fighting well in amateur tournaments (some of the Best women fighters are still in amateurs, Katie Taylor vs Queen Underwood in New York was a hell of a scrap) they will be fighting at a much higher level than an amateur female boxer who hasn't had much of a career just turning pro to get fights to get money to just get food on the table

Katie only turned pro after losing to rival amateur fighters she could beat easily enough before, I think she was past her best by the time of her 4th pro fight

The standard will improve the more rapidly we support it

Make it profitable enough for them to turn pro before their thirties with a style based on high volume and fitness, like Taylor
Nonsense. Women’s amateur boxing has participants that have had 100s of fights and it’s still awful. Women don’t have the upper body strength to make women’s boxing a good spectacle.
Women’s ‘world championship’ boxing is equivalent to watching 13 yr old lads in a club fight.

Come on now. You can have this point of view in every sport.
But, There’s a market for it and the promotors, of course, will back it to turn coin.

Don’t like it? Don’t watch it. Tbh. I don’t watch The Lionesses or women’s football in general because I find it a turgid spectacle.
Tennis. Men or Women. It’s a great spectacle usually and elite are great I won’t compare Novak with Covo Gauff though and say she’s far too weak. It’s a nonsense argument.

Boxing? Well Taylor v Serrano 2. I’d watch that happily.

“Don’t like it, don’t watch it” is not easily applicable in boxing. If I’ve paid a PPV or waiting for the main event on a show I am forced to sit through that crap and am not getting value for money IMO

It’s not comparable to women’s football where I can avoid every match. With boxing you’re almost FORCED to watch it.

There’s only a market because the media and promoters are pushing it so much…. and people start believing the ‘they’re better than the men’ nonsense..:No one would watch it or be interested without its artificial push.

I have zero interest in Taylor Serrano 2. I’d rather watch Jake Paul.

What nonsense.
I don’t think I’ve ever sat and watched an entire female fight, it’s absolutely avoidable if it’s not for you.
In your case it sounds like good old fashioned 1950s sexism, I don’t watch much female boxing in the same way that I don’t watch much of little tiny men.

That’s a different argument.

There’s an artificial push and woke nonsense in alll these sports though.

I maybe a few comments earlier on this thread incurring that it’s more entertaining than the men - are silly. If you’ve got tier 5 boxers at it you might have an entertaining bout. With the ladies it’s a slap fest.

But I’m not back tracking.

Buy a PPV for what though? The Main Event and maybe the chief support. Then. the undercard.
Buy it or don’t.
Tbh. If a womens bout is on there and it spoils your evening. Go and make a cup of tea and a sarnie.

Jake Paul tho. FFs!!!!

In that case, Lee, speaking as someone who was boxing-weaned on late 1980s Fight Night on Central, you're missing out. Khaosai Galaxy beating up someone at a crocodile farm? A bit of Raul Jibaro Perez at the Great Western Forum? Yes please, twice, with chips. Indeed, it was only when I started buying Boxing News when I was about 15 that I suddenly discovered that the Fight Night fights were about two weeks old when shown.

And back on the topic of women's fights, I don't watch loads, but I find Savannah Marshall's fights entertaining as she generally looks to take her opponents out. Three minute rounds will differentiate fighters like her and Shields from the weaker performers as it will give rise to more stoppages - better than the 10x2s ending up as 100-90 x 3 that seems to happen quite often.

Making the rounds 1 minute less would have been an improvement as it would be over sooner.

Got to be fair i don't watch that either , but then again i don't really watch UFC , i;m a bit of a purist , that blonde chick with the glasses , who compares with Johnny Nelson on the PPV shows , I would watch her do a naked jelly wrestle with that gobby girl scary out of the spice girls ,, i would find that entertaining , could even be tempted to buy thay on ppv instead of stream it

I asked about "tiny little men", some of who are far more skilled than leejonesjr.

Teddy’s Toupee

I saw this as was browsing without being logged in.
There are undoubtedly thousands of small men (and women) who are more skilled than me.
There’s not a ‘cut off’ as such, I just largely can’t get excited about boxers who I couldn’t imagine boxing myself. There are always exceptions, Hamed, Lomachenko etc, I was speaking more generally. I couldn’t tell you who holds any of the titles at fly or bantam for example.

How do you think you'd get on with Hamed in a boxing bout? Would you insist he makes the cruiserweight limit or just do it up at heavyweight?

Does that not make them trip over the hurdles?
