Got as far as round 4 this morning and then looked up the result to save me the bother. Charlo well short at this level.

My day's of staying up that late are long gone but I thought this would be very close and Charlo had a real chance of winning. Way off by the sounds of it.

I attempted to stay up but nodded off. Fast forwarded through the replay this morning, didn't look like much, Charlo appeared to be more into survival mode than wanting to win mode.

Piss easy nights work for Canelo, Charlo was awful, came to survive, never tried to win or change things up, no belief in anything he done, weight was never an issue, Canelo done as he always does, walked Jermell down, jabbed, right hands, attacked the body and broke Charlo up, the knockdown in the 7th was class, right hand through the guard then an uppercut as Charlo ducked, top drawer stuff, I only have Charlo one round, the 9th, after that Canelo went back to doing as he pleased and pissed it

It’s a little known fact that Crawford’s roots are in Yorkshire

I feel people being bit harsh on Charlo.
He felt the strength and power of Canelo and just didn`t know how to adapt. Shades of Callum Smith ... however I`d say Charlo was a little more ambitious than Smith.

Canelo must be a nightmare to fight for a lighter guy intending to work it all off the jab - how Canelo again smashes lumps into his opponents shoulder and arms to break them down, and leave them with little options is typical Canelo.

It didn`t work against Bivol because he was naturally bigger and likely had more natural muscle to absorb it, but a smaller guy moving up like Charlo would have been feeling the full effect of them.

Will be interesting if Canelo has to face Benavidez next as part of the new contract. Benavidez is likely to be as sturdy as Bivol to similar tactics.

Cal Smith was little different.

Canelo targeted his arms from the get go.

By midway, Cal couldn’t even lift his arms.

Watched it this morning on DAZN. After the first round, I said to the dog (of Charlo), "he can't win the fight doing that." Turned out he couldn't.

Talk of Canelo's decline have been rather overstated it seems.

I doubt he has another 5 years, certainly not at top level, but he's still time to add considerably to his legacy.

A fight with Usyk is a bridge too far, and his best weight is probablyt 168 now, he can win some and lose some at 175, but at 168, he could close out his career with a very good undefeated run as unified champ.

Canelo seemed to employ similar tactic with Charlo .. those big right hands onto Charlos shoulder no doubt had same effect as on Smith's bicep.

$85 for Jermell to be crowned the " I went 12 rounds with Canelo Alvarez" champion, feeble effort

Canelo should fight David Benavidez next. He's been no.1 contender for ages...

Canelo threw a lot of deliberate shoulder shots. I think it worked.
