Ha ha Calzaghe looked gutted

Post by josh fg »

Not a big Calzaghe fan and to watch his impression of a petulant child on Woods winning didn't make me warm to him. Didn't like Warren's comments he seemed to be putting up a barrier to the fight befor negotiations with all that stuff about how Calzaghe should get the most money what ever.

One of the reasons I'm delighted with a Woods win is because it puts Calzaghe-Johnson on the back-burner. That was never a megafight. I want to see Calzaghe in against the winner of Kessler-Beyer. That's not a megafight either, not in terms of your DLH-Trinidad fights. But at least Calzaghe can say he left 168lb's as the true top dog if he takes the fight and wins.

Calzaghe will box Woods ears off on the preformance last night, Clinton after he takes a good shot freezes up in my opinion and that one thing he can not do against Calzaghe cause he throws combos almost all the time

Calzaghe would also murder him if he kept backing up onto the ropes like in that fight as well. I couldn't understand that, he kept doing it even when Johnson wasn't putting much pressure on him.

I just hope that the Woods and Johnson can't be made, so Calzaghe is basically forced to fight the winner of Beyer vs. Kessler. It's the only meaningful fight left for him at the moment.

I think it was a small ring, plus the heat took a lot of movement off him, making it trench warfare far too early. I can imagine a Fight Academy show, in a well air condiitoned arena, in a more spacious ring, having Woods boxing his fight more.

based on today's talk, Calzaghe, Warren, Woods & Hobson all want to make an effort for it. But Glen is trying to get Woods DQ'd, because when Glen nutted Woods one of CW's ppl got on the ring apron.

Maybe Glen will sabotage that. I dunno. Hobson seems to be on good terms with the IBF & I don't doubt Johnson would take a bit of step aside $s
