They would have to find gazillions more and not sell many extra PPV fights. Both fights are huge on their own.
The Saudi idea of the double header was essentially saying, 'look at me, I promoted the biggest boxing show ever'.

I've dealt with Saudis and other companies in those regions, and I can tell you this, as lavish as they might be, they are tighter than a camels nostril in a sandstorm - they ALWAYS try to beat down the price.
They might like the idea of having a double header with the biggest name sin the heavyweight division, but their instincts will kick in at some point.

Doubt there will ever be a double header , just does'nt make economic sence ,
, Also doubt Usyk and Fury will happen right up till they get on the apron , and even then i would expect Big John to jump on the apron and pull Tyson out just has the bells gonna go , citing Usyks manager just disrespected me , then rip his shirt off in the change room wanting to fight reporters .
Also think there was something untoward that stopped the fight in the first place , dispite what Big John (Doofus ) KEEPS HARPING ON ABOUT , facts are Tyson kept putting obstacles in the way , he was getting good money , he was getting 70-30 , he was getting his demands met , BUT still did'nt have a trainer in camp or sparring partners , this alone tells you he had NO INTENTION WHATSOEVER .. but the answer is why ,
Personaly i think someone has filled his freezer with more Boars meat , and maybee just maybee , his colorful doctor had ordered his own tests , And for anyone who thinks these things cannot and will not be swept under carpets , just look back a few years

I suspect it's as simple as the Dubois debacle boosting his confidence enough to chance it now, coupled with the massive pay rise.

To be fair he's just trying to bag some step aside money for his fighter, I'm sure the Saudis will throw them some pocket change like 2 or 3 million
He's right about old Frank going all quiet on the rematch for Dubois though

I think Usyk will stop him if I'm honest. Fury is going to be very outclassed. All he has is size and usyk has the better feet. It's going to be a case of having to trudge forward through the feints but I suspect he will get shaken up with a left hand and then after a couple of kds, we see a stoppage of some kind. I don't see how he's going to handle Usyk from the outside when he loses the feinting battle and starts getting tagged.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Dec 23 / Jan 24
fury will lean all over him and rough him up. plus obv target the body (which fury does well).TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑07 Oct 2023, 07:41 I think Usyk will stop him if I'm honest. Hes blatantly using this exhibition as pre camp training.

I can’t really see Fury getting stopped, unless he comes in very unfit and collapses from a body shot or something.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Dec 23 / Jan 24
Fury will start favourite based simply on his size advantage. But it has been a very long time since he has got himself into good shape or faced a serious test.
Usyks preparation has been perfect. He handled both Joshua and Dubois easily enough, and aside from the low blow, didn`t look bothered by their strength/power.
The referee will be the deciding factor - if Fury is allowed to do his spoiling and grabbing to make it an ugly messy affair then he wins a stinker - if he then Usyk outpoints him in a not so bad stinker.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Dec 23 / Jan 24
I reckon Tyson will use tactics similar to the 2nd and 3rd Wilder fighters where he will lean all over Usyk in the first half of the fight, draining his energy, then he will have him in half a headlock in one arm and then pop him with an uppercut with the other to knock him out

only stoppage would be a cut stoppage if his eye is shredded again, like pound shop usyk did to itBoxerbeetle wrote: ↑07 Oct 2023, 08:09 I can’t really see Fury getting stopped, unless he comes in very unfit and collapses from a body shot or something.
i reckon fury should have enough, but he's struggled with usyk's type of boxer before.

I think it may be a surprisingly cagey affair. Fury will have to contend with a constantly moving target.
I anticipate more feints than a victorian melodrama early on.

Yep. It's the fight everyone wants to see - but it's going to be stinker
As Fury showed against Wlad; he isn't afraid to stink the joint out to get a decision

He has to get to Usyk to lean on him. I don't think he's just rolling up to Usyk and initiating clinches unless he's totally disregarding the feints and if thats the case he will be getting tagged with left hands. It's all about opinions I know but I can't see him winning here. He's never had the best of chins and Usyk is the most skilled guy he's ever been in with BUT I could see a feinting fight similar to the Wlad fight where both guys did nothing major. I didn't see Fury going for it in that one and Usyk may feel like he's comfortably winning and it's not worth risking it but if Usyk is winning from the outside as I suspect, then Fury is going to have to accept a loss, which in my view was coming close to the case vs Wlad in Germany in that kind of a stinker, not to mention the John McDermott 1 fight where there wasn't much going for it when down on everyones scorecards other than the judges - a fight he lost by all accounts.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Dec 23 / Jan 24
amazing to think when he was punching himself in the face via Lee Swaby and getting a dodgy decision vs Mcdermott, he'd reach this level. Fair play tho he did rematch John Mcd.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Dec 23 / Jan 24
Think in this fight Fury's size will work against him,
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Dec 23 / Jan 24
Exactly what I am thinking.
He’ll (Fury will) need to box. Not just lean, smother and spoil.
Usyk is a far superior boxer to Wlad (Fury’s best win) He won’t fall for the mind games either.
Uysk is a far far far far superior boxer to Deontay Wilder who took Fury through the wringer over 3 fights.
I won’t use the Steve Cunningham, John McDermott or Otto analogies to re-enforce this point.
Fury will be the favourite by the so called experts and bookies. Fair enough. I don’t agree but understand why.
Reckon smart money will be on Usyk at a better than fair price.
IF this bloomin’ fight ever happens. I’m not holding my breath.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Dec 23 / Jan 24
Usyk is better tat the things that Tyson usually holds the advantages in. Abd I think Usyk has proved now he can physically handle HWs.si7dog7 wrote: ↑10 Oct 2023, 13:01Exactly what I am thinking.

I also think Fury has lost a beat. 2 years ago I'd have backed him to find a way.
