He was drained at 120lbs and was very early in his career. McDonnell was good that night, sat in and knew Wood would gas.

That was incredible, Warrington was boxing the best he had in years, bullying and out hustling Wood, hurt him a few times and had him holding, Wood looked a bit out of sorts was boxing mostly southpaw but couldn't keep Warrington at bay, he was having a decent 7th after Warrington got the point off for punching around the back of the head, i thought he needed to close the gap on the cards then bang out of nowhere, nailed Warrington with a right hook which had im staggering forwards and Wood put him away with a quality combination, another right hook finished Warrington but Wood gave him a hard left for good measure, Warrington got up but his legs were gone, i thought the ref might let him make the end of the round but he obviously felt he wasn't able

Is Leigh wood a real world champ? Feels like he is but I’m confused with WBAs current situation. Doesn’t say he is super champ, But have they got rid of super and reg at the weight finally?

Either way he is in my eyes, top class entertainment and great ability to find a win. Love to see him unify. Or move up and fight cordina.

Yeah. He’s been the sole WBA champ for a while now so he’s legit. They’ve (almost fully) got rid of the super champ/interim champ nonsense.

at a 130 what ever you want to call it they said wood is moving up a weight , i like kambosos i think he would get a big draw in this country

Apparently it’s contracted that if he beat Warrington then his next fight will be at the City Ground early summer next year.

Another good fight - big respect to both guys.
Woods is another Steve Robinson type Cinderella-Man.

The Gods are definitely looking after him - again he looks well beaten - then bang; another superb win. The rematch would be good, and it would again be a 50/50 .. Warrington was proper buzzed, but felt sorry for him somewhat there. If he had took a knee or even just faced the ref I think he`d have had a good chance of seeing the round out.

Terri Harper seems a really nice person and best of luck to her. However she really emphasises womens boxing .. its dire. Lauren Price would batter her for sure.

I only caught bits of the fight on Twitter. Looked a really heavy knockdown, Warrington was all over the place.... But, I think it wouldn't have been a bad call to have let him sit his minute and take a close look.

No real complaints, though.

clearly he was ahead, official cards of 59-55 and 58-56 were right enough

his problem wasnt winning rounds, but getting knocked out. wood knows the same story himself

Josh probably didn’t know he was knocked down lol..
Probably waiting for this dad to put the stool on so he could sit on it.

He stayed down a few seconds which was good, cus getting up right away isn’t good either.. but in this case.. Warrington’s legs were not gonna come back.

I thought Warrington was in control and winning the fight but Wood just keeps up a relentless offense despite losing and eventually lands. Having one punch concussive power is his get out of jail card. Warrington was punch perfect and seemed to have the style to beat Wood but Wood has always been a big puncher. He's had an up and down career has Wood, the Jazza loss not too long ago was poor but he's rebounded since and people can make their own minds up.

Lauren price ain't battering anyone. Shes bringing pillows to the fight and skipping around the ring tapping away to the opponent. Harper has always been dire, just a girl who walked into a gym late and got all this hype, money, coverage off very low talent.I don't begrudge these women making a living but has it increased or decreased the enjoyment of watching boxing? Maybe the long time watchers such as ourselves are a different breed.

He was far worse against Lara and Howard Foster let the round continue.

Should have had O'connor in there, he could have walked Josh to his corner, like Cleverly

He’s not though. Lara didn’t turn up in the rematch, Conlan boxed his ears of before Wood caught him (full credit to wood not the trainer) and same again last night. What has Ben done with Wood in all honesty. He looked very easy to hit last night with his chin in the air. Wood has got devasting power that has pulled him through on a number of occasions I can’t give the trainer credit for that
