Its not a big fight, but as both have topped the bill in UK TV fights - I thought I would mention it.
Zolile Mbityi upset Simon Ramoni via a wide unaminous decision to win the South African Super Flyweight title.
You may remember, Mbityi gave a very credible performance earlier this year losing on points to Lee Haskins, with the Commonwealth belt on the line. Many people (myself included) were critical of Haskins' performance.
Ramoni, who gave Michael Brodie fits and beat Patrick Mullings (twice) and Michael Aldis in the late 90's up at Super Bantam, was going through a bit of decent run at Super Flyweight and was defending his title for the 8th time. He had beaten Mbityi on points in 2003.
Ramoni was the younger man by 3 years and would have been a favourite.
Maybe the Haskins performance wasn't so bad after all and Mbityi did/does have something to offer.
Interesting result from Africa.

The guy may have been tougher than we gave him credit for being before hand but Haskins still looked terrible in that fight. He wanted to quit on a few occassions. His balance and punch picking were awfull. He just looked like a skint, diseased, homeless old man's version of Naseem Hamed. What made it worse was his rather hilarious arrogance and claims of future world domination. The fight was cancelled when his opponent Gabula Vabaza failed a pre fight blood test, its not been offically said what he failed on but it doesn't look good for the lad,steve689 wrote:Just out of interest anyone know of a fight report on the Steve Molitor fight out in Africa last night?
I assume it was called off judging by the fight schedules.
