What a farce, I thought the alphabet boys knocked up a new belt for every fight, given that you get to keep your belt when you win it.
Wayne Mc Cullough says in his book that when he won his Bantamweight one that he borrowed the Japanese guys one when being announced as the winner, then gave it back once he was in the dressing room. Also he said he had to borrow Mike Mc Callum's Light Heavy one for a while when having his picture taken with the belt and got his in the post.
What a farce, shame on the WBA for not having a belt on hand. It's not as though either was the champ going in so either way they needed a belt for the winner. M'Baye did a decent job of finishing Balbi fairly early though Balbi i sa shot fighter. I don't feel at the moment M'Baye would beat the top boys at 140.
Just sums up another shit alphabet organisation that they didn't have a belt on hand. I am sure a WBU belt wasn't hard to come by either, half the undercard probably own one.
M'baye is quality, i have been an admirer ever since his fight with Vivian Harris when he more than held his own and showed some sublime skills. The guy is world class no doubt and it's criminal the way he has been rotting away in the shadows.

what do you call "top boys" ? if you talk about Witter, M'baye would certainly beat him, Witter got a gift decision against Kotelnick while M'baye did enough to earn the dec...

Try and get hold of his fight against Hartlepools Alan Temple. (1999 I think)
Alan makes a great fight of it and is actually winning the fight when its stopped by the referee for a cut to Temples eye. The cut wasn't even that bad and at the time of the stoppage wasn't actually bleeding
